    Christmas tree lights

Every year I have the same battle with the Christmas tree lights. It takes ages to get them on the tree to my liking. Our tree is a pre lit one but the lights on it are tacky so I don’t light them so I spend a lot of time huffing and puffing with the string lights.
Now I would like a new tree but OH just puffs out his chest and makes a lot of noise saying there is nothing wrong with the tree we have got, and I have to admit he has a point, it’s the right size for our room and it still looks as good as new , it’s just a shame about the lights so......
I have noticed that there is a new type of Christmas tree lights on the market. They are LED dazzle hanging lights . Apparently the lights a suspended from a ring that fits over the top of the Christmas tree , the lights hang downwards (there are 64lights) so no need to wrap the lights round and round the tree making life a little easier.
Has anyone got these lights and are they as good as advertised? You can buy them from Amazon for £40+ or the exact onns are on eBay for £18.I know where I would buy them from.

I have seen them on the tree displays in garden centres, and they look nice.
Our tree is fibre optic, so we don't put lights on it.
I was never happy with them, always had to keep altering them to get them just right.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Yes my DD bought them she has a very high tree and has to get on step ladder to put lights on ,
These work really well just a hoop to go on top and they hang down all spaced for you and look good, lights are quite bright too .

That sounds a good solution to all the winding round Mimi!
As she is a few inches taller than me, it is OH's job to arrange the lights on the tree. Then I do the rest

Just had another look at them and the bulbs seem quite big, I like small, white/off white twinkling lights . The big ones might look odd on my tree.....I could get a new tree I suppose....

did you hear that ? It was OH taking a sharp intake of breath!

I'd like to have a look at them online. What would I put into search Mimi please?

Sorry Nana I have have only just read your post.
I was originally looking at JML dazzler Christmas tree lights. They have them on the Amazon web site for £44.99 but I thought the light bulbs looked a little too big for what I wanted. I like little lights, more like fairy lights.
This morning I was looking on the Matalan web site for Christmas ideas when I noticed they do ‘easy fit’ tree lights. They are of the same principle as the dazzler lights only they are more like fairy lights and they are only £16 ! I have ordered some so I will report back to here to see if I have got a bargain or not !

Oh please lets know what they are like I have given my big tree to DD for her lounge but the lights have died a sad death they sound ideal,my tree is a half tree which sits against the wall to save space it comes prelit and just needs a star fitted to the top as a fairy just does not sit right, this year I am investing in a potted xmas tree for the front garden and dressing with outdoor lights when we lived in the big family house we had a beautiful conifer tree which we decorated every year but as you all know we have not long moved here and have no time for one to grow into the shape we want.

Glamm - we've got a big conifer tree in our front garden, and I did think about decorating it one year. Then I remember that it's a favourite roosting place for a lot of birds and I didn't think they'd appreciate fairy lights all over their house, so we put the lights over ours by the front door!
