We always used to take the children but as the years went on the pantos got to be more about about "celebrities" and "in" jokes which I didn't much care for. I suppose that's how it must evolve to continue.Providing the traditional elements remain it'll always be a "panto" and as long as people enjoy them that's the main thing.

I think that is what is so special about our panto Clover. No celebrities, or TV names, just our local 'celebrities' who have been appearing it if for decades! The dame is very well loved and unlike most panto dames his humour is in no way risque. It spoils me for other pantos to be honest! The queues on booking opening day in March have to be seen to be believed, with some people camping out overnight“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Wow. I like Pantos but not that much to camp out overnight. I searched almost all day to find 4 seats together in Sheffield, Bradford, Wakefield, York, Leeds, Nottingham, Derby & Birmingham. Nothing. That will teach me to leave it so late. I did find one venue but at £37 per ticket (no concessions...OAP or children). I stamped my foot down in a spoilt childlike manner, bottom lip out....'I'm not paying that much. £148 no way'😠😢
I booked a family ticket for £32 at our local theatre. There's only another 9 people booked for that same performance....oh dear😂

i am however going to get tickets for a ukele band concert being organised by our library. Should be good and always very popular 🎼
I always loved panto as a child and always took our children when they were growing up either to a panto or some other "Seasonal"!! show. When we lived in Worthing they loved going to the ice show in Brighton. But I've never taken the grandchildren. I think pantos went through a phase of being too smutty to take children to, but I think - and hope - they have improved now!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. Christmas meal out with the ‘girls’ booked for early December. This is a tradition we have been doing for the past 10years or so. We all used to work in the same dry cleaners but four of us have retired and our ‘baby’ is still of working age.
In fact this is going to be a very special night out as our ‘baby ‘ has just completed her chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment so we plan to make it a night to remember, not necessarily with lots of drinks and loud partying but with laughter and lots and lots of love.Bring me sunshine in your smile.
