    First Christmas outing booked.

    It will be the 3rd Altzhiemers Christmas Carol concert we've attended. It's at Sheffield Cathedral early December. We went the Christmas before mum died. We then went the following year & I've just booked our tickets tonight. It's a really moving yet 'merry' occasion. OH & I go along with DD2.

    I aught to book the Panto too. Hope I'm not too late. I took GS1 on my own last yr but I have a feeling some more of my family will join us this time. Lovely ... the more the merrier.

    Have you got any outings planned for the festive season? Bet you have Gem....I know how you love your theatre trips with your GD.

      DD3 and her OH take my mum to the Christmas Carol service at York Minster each December (Mums birthday present) She had to book that this week.

      Now the 2 older GC are are at fulltime school and the youngest too young yet, I won't get to take anyone to one of those daytime Christmas productions this year.

        We have booked our panto tickets been booked since May lol DD does it and pays for us and a meal out afterwards sometime middle of December it's Aladdin I think , meeting friends alas without my best friend and we will probably arrange a Xmas meal then , we didn't meet up last Xmas for obvious reasons .
        The cathedral concert sounds wonderful Nana very moving but gets you in the mood for the Christmas festivities 🌲🎅🏻

          Nothing booked, my GC are all grown up so no excuse for a Panto. I would love to go to a Christmas Concert at the Albert Hall, must have a look at the events.

            We have just booked Panto for the 2 youngest even though they are 14/15 they just love to go then to Nando's afterwards,I have paid for Xmas lunch with our Housing Association at Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight we are picked up locally and brought back afterwards,this is the first time I have been because (not to be offensive to anyone) I have always felt too young to go,does that sound ageist I hope not,I still have to confirm the xmas dinner I organise for the neighbours old & new at our local pub they have a fabulous conservatory which they decorate beautifully so a good time will be had by all.

              I saw this thread and thought "NOOOOOOOOOO, it's far too early" (I can hear you all say 'typical, Daisy!'), but we have actually got 2 Christmas dinners booked.

              My OH's ex employers' pensioners club always do a lovely dinner (at the Miramar, for those who know Bournemouth) and we always go. But this year they have also organised one on the Isle of Wight. Our friends are away for the Bournemouth one, so we said we'd go along to the Island one as well. If there's not enough support they won't hold another one, so we feel duty bound to go!!

                Plant you're never too old for Panto. Self, OH & 74yr old brother used to take mum. We screamed 'Behind you!' as much as the children. We laughed til our sides split. I think Pantos are also aimed at the adults too as there are so many inuendos that children couldn't possibly understand. I'm a Panto fan can you tell?😂

                You all sound really organised. Booking Panto in March. Impressed.

                  Nana, we have to book then to get good seats anywhere near Christmas!

                  GD has only been going to the last 2 years, this year will be her 3rd. Every year up to then DD3 and I have gone together, no children, despite the rest of the family dropping out! Now GD and her mum or dad join us

                    A friend of mine organises a coach and panto tickets in January for next Christmas. She likes us to sit in the front rows of the circle so we get a good view. It has always been brilliant.

                          I always wanted to take the GC to the panto but neither of them ever wanted to go! DG would rather be baking cakes, even at a very young age, and DS always had his nose in a book. No bad thing I know but it would have been nice to take them.

                          i am however going to get tickets for a ukele band concert being organised by our library. Should be good and always very popular 🎼

                            I bet that's a fun concert Enfys. Is that what George Formby played? Pantos are not to everyone's taste.
