I suggested not doing presents for adults his year but my sons did not like the idea at all. Husband and I agreed to buy just small things unless it was a joint thing (like iPad) as if we want something we just buy it!

GM - I can see we both have our priorities right - good garden aids for both of us!!
I love the idea of putting a financial cap on presents for adults - or they must be home-made. I think I shall suggest that next year, because I didn't like not getting anything for our DSs and DILs.
Oma - Your GS1 is so lovely. xx

I think if I suggested to my dils that we only did home made presents they would have a fit!! They are definitely not home made type of people. I used to always give them chutneys, Christmas cakes, pate etc. But in the last few years I just don't seem to have had the time and anyway I am not sure they really appreciated it all. Husband gets garden centre vouchers which they think all think are boring but it pleases him and that is all that is important. I bought him a new "man bag" this year. I must admit that was expensive even though it was in a sale but it is something he uses a lot when he is running training courses. His old one got rather shrivelled when we left it in the sun when we were on holiday (it doubles as the travel document/official document "safe") but it was quite old and this one is pure leather so should stand the test of time. I bought him some plain white "vests" only they are Cotten v neck tee shirts really, some smellies and an all weather hat. He has a bald head and he has this thing about not covering it. He doesn't like beanie hats so I bought him a waxed sort of big trilby. A bit country ish I think. I think he looks fab in it but he says he will have to get used to it!

Well me and OH were both truly spoilt, 2 oldest DD's always go together to buy our pressies, OH got his "traditional" pack of 20 something Gillette razor blades which last him all year, a Rick Astley CD which he had previously said he was going to get himself...smellies, licorice allsorts another tradition, he once said he liked them, gets them every year now... joggy bottoms and t shirts so done very well..
I got an IPhone and 3 sets of matching underwear off OH, think he's telling me my other is tat... nice marks and spencers, sent DD out for them, he calls her his "personal shopper", good job she is happy to do it, so a bit of taste, pj's and loads more, off DD's hair straightners, bag and new purse oh yes and walnut whips, they were lovely think I ate the 3 of them, well must have because there not there anymore... and off youngest DD a lovely Christmas candle in a jar, and some Yankee votive candles, I did tell her not too but she didn't listen...
New Coat and scarf off MIL and pj's, dressing gown and Christmas tree slippers off my mam, don't know where she got them from got BHS on the label, but she bought 8 pairs so we all had matching slippers, and a snowman nightie.... good job we aren't all wearing them together, suppose would make a lovely Christmas photo...
Still haven't seen DS or Grandchildren only G, all there pressies are still here so hoping to see them soon...spoke to them and had pictures sent but never seen them, hopefully I will today...

I was given a cute homemade calendar of my GGDs little chubby footprint with a little photograph of her it will go in my kitchen in pride of place and a gift voucher from the local beauty spa for my nails to be done which I used on Wednesday the results are nice sparkly nails in a light shade of pink "very girly" I found some Oscar de la Renta under the tree always a welcomed surprise as its my favourite and someone must have realised I was getting low (lovely man) well done for noticing. For the house from the DCs we where given the most sweet Jo Malone Christmas candle and holder which smells delicious DD always knows what I like and just gets her brothers to contribute the funds as they are clueless when it comes to gifts I would appreciate. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

We are going to look through the murder mystery catalogue on line tomorrow to decide when we are going away to spend our Christmas present. I suggested going for our 25th wedding anniversary in May but he said not. I have a feeling there may be plans afoot because when I argued and said it was the ideal opportunity he just quietly said "I do not want to go in May, end of" in this sort of mysterious way!! After that little display if he does not have something up his sleeve he will be in trouble when the day comes!

Oh Clover I hate the bath bombs, especially the ones with all the bits in them, the bits floating everywhere are uncomfortable for me. I cannot walk past a Lush shop as I find the smell overwhelming. This has not always been the case (talking about the smell) but it is now, grumpy old woman I have become.....If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

One year, some time ago, we had Christmas candles from M&S. We had people here and lit the candles to give a festive feel. Within twenty minutes I couldn't breathe and was in hospital via A&E with an allergic reaction although we didn't know at the time what it was, the candle had been extinguished as I was taken to hospital lso by the time we got back everything was fine. A couple of days later we had some of the same people here and the same thing happened so another A&E visit. It was one of the guests who put two and two together. It was the M&S myrrh candle that was trying to kill me! M&S no longer sell those candles although I don't know whether it is because of others having the same problems.
We don't have scented candles here any more. We did have those scented plug in things which husband loves but I always had streaming eyes and sore throats and told him we wouldn't have them again and all of that stopped too.
I think I might be a very delicate little person (NOT).If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together
