    Wonderful day

We have had a great day lots of laughter and lovely food (to much really 😊) poor Brian was exhausted we came home he lay on the sofa and before I even got my coat off he was asleep and slept for 2 hours solid , really spoilt with gifts 😊
We did get some sad news though , yesterday morning a young man of 24 was found in the local river they think he fell in the night before while out drinking in the nearby pub , This river has taken 10 young lives in the last 5 years , anyway SIL got a phone call to say it was his friends son , poor family a sad Christmas for them .
On a lighter not I hope everyone had a good day ,
Zizi how did it go with your guests ?xx

Oma, I'm so glad to hear about your lovely Christmas Day

Ours was lovely, lucky to be able to share the day with my mum, at 88.

Such sad news about that young man Oma

Oma - what a wonderful day, but so sad about the young man. My sympathies to his poor family.

LG - That's what I like - a lady with stamina - Christmas Day on 2 days together! Have a great time.

Gem - It sounds as though you had a lovely day, and i'm sure your mum enjoyed it.

We have had a lovely day. It was very strange not cooking Christmas dinner, but I enjoyed the morning bucks Fizz with friends and then on to DIL2's mum's for dinner, and some serious present opening. Both GDs were exhausted with excitement by lunch time, but they kept going. I think the excitement had built up and built up to fever pitch.

I hope everyone else has had a good day.

Elisi - did you enjoy your relaxed lunch, and did you brave the weather for a walk afterwards?

Pleased everyone had a happy day despite some last minute changes of plan.
It's lovely to hear Brian had a great day, especially when it was expected he would still be in hospital.
I feel so sad for the family of the young man who lost his life. A tragedy.

We had a quietish day with both DS. For some inexplicable reason DS 1's GF doesn't "do" Christmas.Strange I know but she spent the day decorating (painting) her flat.DS2 is still partnerless

Usually DD and family come to us on Boxing Day but this year we are going to them at the end of the week to spend New Year and my (say it quietly) 70th birthday .I think SOMETHING is planned . My DGD told me to bring some "nice" clothes

              Enjoy Boxing Day everyone

We had a fun time eating in our favourite restaurant, we had a lovely meal and fun, came home and just collapsed. Today we are going to DS's, he cooks loads of different curries, including turkey of course and they invite family and friends to sample them. Diet tomorrow perhaps.

So sad about the loss of a young man's life Oma, what is it with that river?

So pleased to hear you all had a good day, especially Mr. and Mrs. Oma.`

We had a lovely family day with a cute surprise visit from GGD and her daddy we had seen her the day before and not expecting to see her again yesterday as they where "booked in " at other relatives but daddy insisted his mum should see Sofia for her 1st Christmas Day,he is such a thoughtful son to my DD and me.We have overloaded with food and tonight are just having cold cuts and a light salad but must follow with M&S special trifle which has been shouting to me from the fridge all day (lol).

Clover - it sounds like a very relaxed Christmas day with your DSs. You probably need to save your energy for whatever the family has planned for That Day!

Glam - what a little cutie she is, and how lovely of her daddy to pay a surprise visit with her.

Plant - glad you've had a lovely time. Diets don't start until next year - so you have a few more days to go.

Oma glad you had such a great day. I think a lot of us, whether we had been through what B has gone through or not, collapsed in a heap in the afternoon so he is allowed!

One of my visitors did not turn up which is explained elsewhere. The lunch went well, lots of good fizz imbibed, neighbour's mum nearly fell asleep at the table and I had to make her a coffee but that revived her. They came at 2.30 and left around 7.30 so I guess they had a good time! Family around tomorrow at 11am so early up tomorrow but am quite organised about it all especially as husband is not working so it will be a joint effort instead of me on my own. Looking forward to seeing everyone (even though I saw them yesterday but only briefly). It might be a long sleep in the afternoon for us tomorrow.......

Good morning ladies B still in bed , never been known this late for him think the children drained his energy yesterday ☺,
Going to pop out for fresh bread but nothing else to do for a change , I keep looking at the clock as by now all my neighbours are up and lights are on but no one seems to be awake I thought I may have mistaken the time but everyone must be having a lie in 😀
Zizi sounds like it was a successful day at yours glad it went so well .
have a good day ladies xxx
