    New Christmas tree

Today my new Christmas tree arrived , I have wanted this particular tree for a few years but couldn't justify the cost £359 ,
It's from Balsam Hill Christmas trees , they are very life like ,
The other night I thought I would have a browse on there site and it was reduced to £199 , till midnight that night , Brian said if you want it I will buy it for you so he did 😊 it went up the next day so I got it just in time , it's since came down to £219 in sale but I still got a good bargain , I think Zizi has something similar , it's in the box in the hall I will take it out to check tomorrow but it may not go up till next year now , It's a Fraser fir 5 1/2 ft I'm going on Boxing day to buy some lovely baubles in the sale , we paid this much for it I may as well splash out on some classy decs , 😊
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Sounds divine Oma, wish I had the space for a bigger tree, one day. I think ZIZI said hers is a pop up tree ready adorned.

Oma - it sounds fabulous, and you certainly deserve some treats this Christmas, both of you.

Oma you certainly deserve a treat love. Mine is in a box, it has lights and baubles. It also cost a lot of money which price I was shocked at at the time but I cannot remember now how much it was. It is just lovely for me to have a nice tree that doesn't need a lot of faffing about with. I know some people like the faffing bit, including my sister who is quite horrified at my lack of love for decorating a massive real tree that drops needles everywhere and means I actually have to consider getting the sucking up thing out. Also I have much more to do than spend three hours sticking baubles on a tree which is the time my sister spent on her tree alone. Her whole house is "dressed" and it takes her two days not to mention the three days she spends on the front and back gardens. Fine if you have the time and the will and you want to do it. I don't to be honest.

Lots of love grumpy Grandma xx

ps Oma glad you got a good tree. I love it at the end of Christmas when we put it back in the box and chuck it in the loft - there it goes, end of, goodbye for another year!!!!

Oma I looked on their site a week or so ago and I also couldn't justify spending £300+ on something that will live 90% of its time in a box in my cupboard but had I'd seen that they had been reduced I would have been tempted to buy one. The one I have up now would have taken down and the new one put in it's place.
I agree with Zizi , I hate the faffing about that comes with a standard tree. Mine takes ages to get right and it's not helped by the fact that I don't really like our tree, it was brought in an ' emergency ' when we discovered our big tree no longer fitted in our sitting room after we had purchased a new big sofa. The thing is we have since moved, sofa has been changed for a much smaller one and we still have the flipping tree ! I did toy with the idea of getting one of those trees that are flat at the back so they stand against a wall giving more space in a small room but I'm not sure if I would like it !
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

That sounds lovely Oma A bargain too. As real trees cost around £50 pounds these days, and have to be bought each year, I don't think it is extravagant to spend a lot on a good tree which you will enjoy for years!

Btw Zizi, you get trees which drop no needles these days. I never have to get the hoover out because of the tree. Cat hair yes, but not tree needles

Great tree Oma. Last year we gave our big artificial tree and all the decorations to DGD as she and her boyfriend had just moved into their first little house together. They have a big lounge and it looks lovely in there. I was getting fed up with putting the tree together, sorting out the branches and light etc. so we bought a ready decorated, prelit tree in a box. You just open the lid and pull the whole thing up! Job done. I miss our tree though but this is just so easy 🎄

We have to make life easier as we get older, you will enjoy getting the tree out every year.

I wish my mum would accept one of these ready lit and decorated trees. She loves her Christmas tree and says she enjoys decorating it. I got her a new 4 foot one a couple of years ago, as she had a heavy 6 foot one which was really complicated to assemble. She won't accept any help with the decoration, but this year she was exhausted after putting it up and had to go to bed! She is one of the stubbornest people, who will only accept help or change when she wants to!

I have wanted a pop up tree for my hallway, there isn't a lot of room for anything large, I have found one at B&Q prelit and decorated in their sale for £7. It's tall but very slim so perfect for my small space. Others were £30 and upwards. My lounge tree is a 6 foot slim tree and it takes up very little space, but would still be to big for our hallway. Our last tree was £75 and that was in a sale, very real looking but took up far to much space, shame as we only used it once. I always think it's nice to have a tree in the hall make it welcoming for guests. My bargain of the day,as I had treated myself to a wooden stag with glittery antlers to stand by my tree which was much more than my bargain tree. Off to B & Q site now to order.
