Don't want to think about C******** until at least November. The only thing organised is C dinner which we are hosting at a nice hostelry.

My husband person is working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Sadie, Joe, mummy and daddy will be in Portugal so I will face time them on Christmas Day and I will go and see Ben and give him a small gift and take a picture of him waving hello to granddad. Husband will come home and we will have dinner, a roast of some sort probably chicken, wth a bottle of fizz and life will go on, he will fall asleep, I will watch some weepy Christmas film and tell myself off for crying at a film I have seen seven hundred times before, he will go to bed and the next day will be roughly the same,

we we have been lucky at he last two years he has had time off at Christmas. I have often been invited to the ids for Christmas lunch when he has been working ion Christmas Day but I prefer to stay at home and wait for him.

Well Elisi, blame Daisy for starting this thread. For once it wasn't me

I shall just have to have a word with that Daisy

actually this year we will see family on C Eve and Boxing Day but CD will be spent with a dear friend whose daughter tragically took her own life at 44.

She is alone and we think it is often wise not to spend every day over the holidays within the bosom of ex husbands, etc and this dear friend is a Christian so we are pleased to share a C morning Service with her and then a light lunch.

That doesn't sound fair Zizi that your OH is working all over Christmas and New Year.

I didn't mention that C word, Gem and Elisi. In fact I hoped by starting this thread it would remind everyone that we can relax for the next 3 months!

🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄☃⛄️☃⛄️☃⛄️☃. I thought, hmmm at least we could get through summer before the dreaded c word came up. All these months of horror and angst and ***** C music everywhere you go for months on end for what is a 3 day break and all too often a hard working, traumatic time for Women in particular. I hate it with a passion. 😜😜😜

I was with OH last week when noticed the "C" stuff starting to appear on the shelves, i done a little " you must be joking" remark but was secretly having a good look....and will go back by myself...

I started my shopping Jan, got some good bargains in the sale, doing reindeer themed hampers so got pj,s slippers, socks etc, saved a fortune all from Debenhams and have got Theatre Royal tickets for my girls to see Mama Mia, which i know they will love....
