    My best Christmas Present ...

My DIL gave me the bestest present ever for Christmas, it is a keyring and it has a tag on it which says 'This Nanna belongs to' and there are two little boy shapes with the name of each of my grandsons engraved on the back and a swarovski crystal of each of their birth month. It made me cry when I opened it!

Avo, that sounds like the perfect present, and I would have cried too

I was thinking yesterday that I don't have favourite present this year. I have lots of very nice things, but nothing stands out. The framed photo of DD2 and GD would have to be my favourite, I suppose.

A couple of years ago I was given a cushion which says on it :

    GRANDMAS HOUSE
where T..., and E..... get spoilt.

It was my favourite that year and had pride of place on the sofa.
Those are the special presents, aren't they?

I think my favourite must be the new mobile hubby bought me. Although very sad to say goodbye to my old phone.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

To be fair neither of us need anything but have got some nice pressies however today is a gift to each other. Our very last mortgage payment! We paid one mortgage off and to save the business had to take Out another which was very difficult, we held on to our old house by the skin of our teeth sometimes but managed it and thankfully since moving 15 years ago it has been less difficult. It is a joy to know that we are mortgage free at last. We will have steak and salad and a bottle of good champagne tomorrow evening in celebration. I printed off the bank statement and highlighted the payment and stuck it on the front door for husband to see when he walked through the door! I should say that no figures were showing just in case of the unlikely case of someone coming to the door. He walked in with the paper and said "someone stuck this on the door what is this about?" Sometimes he is just a twit!

I had some lovely presents, two handbags both great and a good shape for me. My favorite is a gift from my eldest GS and his partner, it is a pair of solar lanterns for my garden, they are glowing nicely.

My two favourite presents this year are a lovely framed photo with a message about grandchildren being like flowers and how lovely it it watching them grow, with a picture of a little boy on a beach. A closer look, and I realised it was a photo of GS2 and my talented DIL1 (who designed our GRU logo) had made it.

The other present is a fitbit. I think this could become addictive - like today it showed that the bit of hoovering I did burned more calories than walking the dog, I climbed the stairs 13 times and last night I slept for just over 7 hours, woke 3 times and was restless 13 times!

My DD had a fitbit Daisy. It's fascinating to see your sleep pattern isn't it?

One of my favourite gifts was an I-pad mini to replace my old faithful Hudl, which is on it's last legs.
Theatre and cinema vouchers were also very welcome.

A welcomed bottle of "Oscar de la Renta" perfume which which hubby must have noticed was needed replacing and tickets to Pantomime with the delicious Callum Best in a small theatre in Liverpool which where sold out by August this year so a very thoughtful prezzie indeed.
