    Christmas Day Shopping

Woke up at 3 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep (insomnia again) so got up and did some shopping. Great sale offers in John Lewis and Lakeland. Got a lovely sweater and some new underwear (sweater half price) and then got a new ironing board which I had been looking at in Lakeland at over £60. This morning it is half price £30. Feeling very pleased. Isn't technology great!! Might look at IKEA later. Off to peal a sprout first though

That's interesting Nanto, I've never done it before but I think it is a rather good idea. Makes insomnia easier to bear too that's for sure.

GL - you got some good bargains there, well done.

Shopping online at night sounds a good idea, but I think I might buy things I didn't really want/need - as compensation for not being able to sleep!

Errrr what is an ironing board exactly? Is it made of iron, if so it must be awfully heavy. What do you do with it??

I really quite enjoy ironing (sorry) but I do watch TV whilst I am doing it. It requires very little thought and I find it helps me unwind. Can't wait to try the new board.

BL my dislike of ironing is known almost as well as my love of gin and tonic. I have an ironing fairy and I dread the day I have to tell her that I am not working anymore and therefore do not need her to come to my door! I only wish I could train myself to like it ..... NO! That is a big fat fib, I don't wish that at all.

I hate ironing too, I don't have very much but hate getting it all out to do my small amount

Zizi I have a plan to make you enjoy ironing much more. Why not do it whilst drinking a large gin and tonic. Just Saying

Ironing isn't that bad, or it wouldn't be if it was a very occasional thing, like decorating. It is the fact that you just have to keep on doing it, again and again, which I hate

Plant I think it would be nice to have a big enough house to have an ironing room where it is all set up ready. It's the getting it all out and the putting it all back that gets on my nerves too. Don't mind the actual task once all that fussing about is done though.

Gem it's like so much that we have to around the house and garden. No sooner is it done than it starts to need doing again. Don't get me started on dust and where it all comes from.
