I love a real tree, and that is what we have in our living room. I have no colour scheme. Our tree is decorated with baubles and decorations from each of our pasts, things my children have made, things bought on holidays ,and gifts. 200 tiny coloured lights, and a silver star on top.
In the hallways I have small artificial tree on a table. I decorate that all in small silver baubles and stars, and white lights.

Always had Artificial used to be all golds and cream that was before the grandchildren came along very designer and expensive baubles , now it's red and gold and has baubles that have been gifts , ones we bought on holidays and unbreakable ones from Asda and lots off hanging gold bead garlands I have had years , plus glass candy canes . We have a fibre optic little tree on our bedroom window, I have my eye on a lovely one for next year but have to save for it costs a arm and leg but it's beautiful and looks real

We had a real tree for the first few years we were married but changed to an artificial one as I was fed up with pine needles everywhere by Boxing Day. Artificial trees look so much more realistic now than when they did in the the 1970s , but they still have a long way to go to create the Christmas tree 'smell' .
When we lived in a house we had a huge artificial tree but now we are in a flat the tree has been changed for a much smaller one, which has taken me a few years to get used to.
Every Christmas I aim to have a red/green/gold theam but it never works out that way. I have a tatty Christmas cracker that my GS made for us when he was 3 (he is now 14) that goes on there. A green bauble with random bits of glitter on it made by my GD when she was at nursery. Also a light blue bauble with a Christmas ice skating scene one it that belonged to my mum. The hoop at the top , which was used to hang the bauble on to the tree, broke long before it became mine so mum used a strand of wool in its place .
Also the fairy at the top of the tree is the same one that we brought for our first Christmas when we were married back in 11973 . I brought her from Woolworths and she wasn't your normal gold fairy, this one had a deep blue dress with a gold bodice. When my DD was in her teens she got some gold coloured wrapping paper that was left over from wrapping Christmas presents and covered the blue skirt and she was transformed into a more traditional type of fairy and that is how she is now , sitting on top of our tree 42 years later!

Ours is tall and thin. We used to have a real tree when the children were young and we had a big house then for a few years we had a very designer twig tree. When we first moved in here we had a potted tree with the intention of keeping it in the garden and reusing it but although it was potted it did not have any roots and quickly died.

The one we have now is pre decorated and lit and comes in a box on wheels, it has torquoise, purple and orange baubles which are big at the bottom and small at the top and white lights, we bought it from ACHICA several years ago, it was quite expensive but we reasoned it was the right size for the flat and would be in use for years I have two angels for the top. One that I bought when we bought the tree because I couldn't find our original. She is pretty with a big cream lace dress and feather wings. The original is more wintery with a white dress and fur trimmed clape and fur hat, she also has feather wings. Sadie chose which one she wanted to be on top of the tree and she chose the winter Angel.

So the tree will go back in its box after Christmas and back into the loft. Very convenient and no mess.

Gave up on real trees years ago and always had a fairly big artificial green tree which we decorated in red and gold. This year I decided I wanted a change and we bought a tall, thin silver one, ready decorated and complete with lights. It pops up out of it's box and that's it. Not sure if I like it but am getting used to it.

This may sound like bragging and I hate braggers lol but we have 3! one in the lounge a poinsietta its very pretty about 6ft tall pre dec and pre lit and a twig one in the larger conservatory about 5 ft pre lit doesn't need trimming and a small one in the little conservatory that is pre lit and has butterfly decs look I cant help being posh

We always have an artificial one now.Have had real trees in the past.We used to have a very tall tree, but we have a smaller one now.No set colour scheme, because we us baubles we have bought over the past 47 years.

Qwerty I'm not bragging either lol,I have one of those half trees which sit nicely against the wall at the top of our external stairs to our front door and I let the chap who lives opposite share it !!! we have a pre lite 6ft one in the lounge which I add some favourite baubles to and our old battered fairy and thats us done apart from some ceramic xmas ornaments scattered about and the holly wreath on the front door.

I love real trees, but we always had artificial ones when I was a child, and when we got married. But I soooo wanted a real tree, and one year I won the annual battle for a 6ft real tree. Even our mismatched hotchpotch decorations looked good on it. I stroked it every time I walked past it, and savoured that real tree fragrance. After a few days I noticed my mother, who lived with us getting the Hoover out for the 3rd day running. You've guessed it - needles were falling like summer rain. By Christmas Day the tree was looking decidedly sad, and the poor dog was fed up with having needles extracted from his pads.

So guess what? That was our first and only real tree.

But I'd love another. 🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

Qwerty she goes a bit over board at Christmas I don't know where she gets the time or patience what with 3 cats and now the dog she has to pin the big tree to stop it falling over every time one of the cat scoots up it 😀
