    Men's gifts

As I have only daughters, and haven't had a dad , FIL or husband for many years SILs are the men I have to buy for.

Since DD1 and OH are no longer together I don't buy for him.

SIL3 needed a new wooden backgammon set so we have got him that.

That just leave SIL2, the most difficult to buy for. He likes nice things and he knows what he likes.
Unless I have specific suggestions from DD I am always at a loss. Several times we have given him a hamper, made up ourselves with nice wine, beer, foods etc. That has always gone down well, but I don't really want to do it again this time.
I have given restaurant vouchers in the past too.

I don't know what to give him!!!

Gem, you seem to have already given him most of the things I can think of. So just one suggestion - which may be completely inappropriate - what about a voucher for an old-fashioned barber who use the traditional brush for soaping, cut throat razors (I'm sure they have a less scary name), lots of hot towels etc.

(I'm now thinking I bet he's got a beard, but I imagine he could have all that luxury care and a beard trim.)

It's a nightmare shopping for men.

GS tells us what he wants and we get that.
Now we only do secret Santa the pressure is off slightly except this year my secret Santa was James.
We agree only £20 per gift so we bought him a Lindt chocolate box and a silly book of random facts , I know he will like that.

Every year we would shop for weeks looking for the right gifts , I have given up with B there is nothing he wants ,

I buy presents or give money for 20 presents, that’s my two children and their OH’s, 6 Grandchildren and their OH’s and four Great Grandchildren. This year I am giving cash to some.

Daisy, good idea, but no hair or beard

Oma I have bought him those type of books in the past too.

I have got the 2 youngest GSs sorted and one thing bought for GS1, I need another suggestion for him. It's vouchers for GD and just a little thing to wrap up. I have no problem buying for girls so will easily find something for her.

Gem, I agree men/boys are so much harder to buy for. These days we usually get our GS (21 and nearly 20) an 'experience', often clubbing together with their other grandparents if it's a really expensive spend.

Is your SIL2 a gardener? Does he like tecchie gadgets?

In the end I bought him a jumper!
I hope he will like it

It was in the Lands End sale at £31 instead of £63.

Gem, I'm sure he'll like the jumper - and you've put a lot of thought into his present. I've had some real bargains at Lands End recently. One was a really nice pair of pink jeans (more for spring than now) for just over £10. LE is one of my go-to places - good quality but not extortionate prices.

Daisy I buy their 'tugless' swimsuits for aquafit.
They are good quality and don't move when you are jumping about. There can be a lot of jiggling with other suits
I have 3 of them and got them all in the sales.

I've been looking at their tugless swimsuits and wondering what it is that makes them stay in place. At the moment I've got two tankinis but it would be good to have a proper swimsuit.

I find them very comfortable, but they can be a bit "unfortunate" in a hot tub with lots of bubbles!!!
