    Supermarket online delivery slots

    How many of us are booking supermarket Christmas delivery slots? It seems the various supermarkets have different ways of making us put our orders in - I resent it a little that 'they' are pushing me to decide when I want to get the sprouts and tatties, but I suppose they have to incentivise us to spread the orders out over as many days as possible.

    Christmas Day is on a Saturday this year, so I'm wondering how early in that week I should get a delivery. Always supposing there are slots to be had!

    What are other grannies doing?

    There are no Tesco slots for anywhere near Christmas, not around here anyway!
    Sainsbury's are easier to get. I have booked one for December 20th, which is the closest I can get.

      Gem - Sainsburys release another day every day. If you log on very early tomorrow (Thursday) you might be able to move your 20th December to the 21 or 22nd. I think they release the next day at midnight. I happened to wake up about 5 am today for a loo trip and thought I'd check, and sure enough there were plenty of slots for the 21st. Tomorrow's will be for the 22nd.

        We are not booking a slot we are just getting our shopping as normal , we are at DDs Christmas Day anyway 😀

          Oma - being at your DD's makes things much easier.

          This year we'll be 10 to 12, with 4 staying overnight on Christmas Eve. I need to get organised.

            We will be 11 or 13 on Boxing Day, so need to be organised for that 😊

              We will be shopping as normal. With Christmas day being on Saturday,we will probably go on the thursday.
              Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

                December 21st and 22nd are open Daisy, but no slots at all!
                I will stick with 20th. We pre buy as much as we can in the weeks up to Christmas anyway, so it will be mainly fresh stuff and cat food.

                  I booked my Christmas delivery with Tesco in the middle of November Its arriving on 23rd December.
                  I have the delivery saver plan . Its £72 a year but I don't pay for delivery each week and I get priority booking at Christmas time. I did notice that the delivery charge during Christmas week is £7 .50 . Its normally £4.50 any other time . Bit of a cheek I think

                    Mimi - Sainsbury do a delivery saver plan as well - I must look into it in the New Year.

                    Gem - I was able to move my slot just after midnight last night to the 22nd, which is fine for me. It's a bit of a rat race, isn't it!!
