    Getting the decs up early

    Not yet!!!!

DD2 and I were talking and we had both come to the same decision, that after this awful year and with a difficult winter to get through, we feel that adding light and colour to our world is even more important than ever.

We both intend to put our lights and decorations earlier than usual, probably the beginning of December. We usually do this mid December.
OH is with me on this, so we plan to be all festive by early December

Gem - good for you - this year needs all the cheerful help it can get.

I know if we put ours up that early I'd want to take them down again a week later - I can cope with them for about 10 days, tops!

May do it a bit earlier. We have two reindeers that we put on our back lawn. The girls love them and they look lovely all lit up.

FQ we have 2 light up reindeer as well, a mummy and baby. They sit on our front doorstep from dusk until we go to bed, then we bring them in for the night 😊

I'm with Daisy on this one. No way will they be going up early.
I would be itching to take them down before Christmas arrived.

Same here, I only put out a few decs. and after Christmas I take them down quite early but leave the cards until it is time to take them all down.

I leave the tree adn decs up for New Year's Eve, although I've no idea what we will be doing this year.

We have always put our decorations up on 15th December which is my eldest son Simon's birthday but this year after such a horrible xmas last year I am going to put them up on 9th December (when I lost my lovely man) he loved to put up the decs .
I have a nice shaped conifer outside my front door which I will put lights on it looks so cute when lite up,I brought home some lovely out door Father Xmas's from Spain when we moved back they are climbing up little ladders and we used to have them climbing up the balcony this year they will be fixed to the gutter and climb on the roof !!
Only thing I have to do is find a grandson to volunteer to climb into the loft for his nana

I usually put ours up in the second week of December ready for our Christmas Starts Here party. That won’t happen so my decs will be minimal this year. I’m thinking no sooner than the week before Christmas and down on Boxing Day except for my special ornament which will be out until 12th night.

For the first time ever our Christmas tree and some of our decorations went up in November.
December 10th to 15th has been our usual time.
There is still a small twig tree and couple of other things to go up inside, and the outside lights to be put up.

This feels right, for us, this year,
It's very early and I don't think we will repeat it next year, but this year it is helping.

Same here Gem , just feels right , most of our Cul-de-sac have done the same out of 20 houses only 3 are still to put up trees and lights .

Next year we will be back to normal hopefully but for this year we need some Joy and pretty things to cheer us up , Plus any excuse to put the lights up is fine by me

I noticed when I got back from a late dog walk yesterday that several houses in our road had got their decs and lights up. I can't summon up the enthusiasm yet - perhaps I will as Christmas gets closer.

I don't know about decorations, I am listening to Radio 2, all Christmas songs, do they always do it so early or it just me???

Sorry, I have just heard they are playing Christmas music all day, it is a Christmas house party!
