    Too Early

Now i love Christmas and start to decorate the house start of December but today ( looking at the time yesterday ) , I have had 3 emails from different company's advertising their Christmas range .
The Range was one of them ,
We havent even had Halloween yet its mid September for goodness sake ,

I can understand if you have several children looking at toys but these were adverts for decorations ,
Are they going to start playing Christmas songs too /

Far too soon even for Christmas lovers like me it takes away the magic .

We have seen a house with a Christmas tree in the window but im not sure if the house has people in it may be empty and the tree has been left up , either that or they never took it down
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, I totally agree with you. When I was at the garden centre last week the Christmas show was up and going, I think it was 35 degrees that day! We celebrate Dec 5th first and I see they have the chocolate letters etc already in the super markets.
I am not a Christmas person so can't really understand why they do all this soooo early!

It is too early, I agree.
I think many of us will be less excited about Christmas and New Year this season to be honest. I love decorating my house and all that goes with Christmas. I love being here with OH, but spending time with family and friends makes Christmas for me,and I love our NYE gathering.

Is it because there's a chance that we might all be in lockdown again? Get your decorations/presents/whatever,while you can? Certainly MUCH too early in my opinion. Though having said that,I've just bought something for DS to take back with him as we won't be with him this year.

WeeGranny - It's rather different with your son going back abroad. It makes sense to give him his present now - with a sticker on "Don't open until Christmas Day"

I noticed there were several 'festive' items in the daily toll of promotions that seem to find their way into my inbox! You can guess what I've done with them.

My shopping will be done in December, as always.

I like to get Christmas shopping done early.
In fact yesterday,i was thinking i ought to make a start on the Christmas cards.

Me too generally Nan2, but I have no enthusiasm this year. Perhaps Daisy is influencing me??

Gem - heaven forbid! I know you love Christmas and all the run up to it and I certainly wouldn't want to spoil one second of that for you. I do like Christmas, it's the slow burn towards it I can't get enthusiastic about. I think about 5th December is a good time to start!

The only think I usually get in November is a diary for the following year, but this year I don't think I'll bother! I haven't used the current diary!!!!

We are resigned here that the family Christmas planned by my DD (they all went elsewhere last year) this year will probably not happen. The Waitrose workers here are dreading it. GD is hoping to work until the 23rd December.

I think we should all try not to get too far ahead of ourselves (Christmas is 3 months away)
I hope family groups can be together as usual - unless you have group of 20!
Our normal Christmas Day is me , OH and my mum here. If care home rules are relaxed by then, we will still do that. If not we will probably spend it here alone, which we are fine with. If the rule of 6 is still in place, as SIL2's parents always go to them, making 6, we won't be able to join them. We may call in before or after they are there though.
As long as I can see family at some point over Christmas I will be happy.
I'm trying not to get too concerned about it all just yet.

Gem, isn't it lovely when you just relax and give yourself an extra couple of months without all the rushing about, organising and planning.

(I'm only teasing - I know Christmas isn't going to be the same for most of us this year.)
