    Family Christmas games

This isnt really about the games themselves per say, we usually have a Christmas pass the parcel and a quiz , to make sure no one gets upset lol I put prizes in for everyone I might wrap a sheet of paper and wrap a gift in then the next sheet I won’t, only silly things like shoe polish, bath bombs, smelly thing for the car ,little toys for the kids etc, the quiz one the adult winner gets something and the children’s quiz get one, chocolate , small bottle of beer not for the kids I might say, so went to the One Below shop a sort of pound shop it cost me £12 for gifts, wrapping paper and sellotape now have the job of wrapping this lot !!!!!

That sounds a lovely idea Qwerty, lots of fun!

I did a family pass the parcel a couple of years when the kids were still at home, for Boxing Day when mum and dad came round.

Qwerty, my mum is like that!!
Many years ago at Christmas we played a Who Wants to be a Millionaire Game, with a DVD. My mum was heading towards the £100000. My ex OH gave his opinion on the answer of the final question. He didn't tell her what to answer, no one has ever told mum what to do! She went with his answer and it was wrong. Well, she couldn't have reacted more badly if she had lost an actual million pounds. She went on and on for ages. We all agreed when mum and dad had gone home - no more board games involving my mum!!!

Qwerty - it sounds a lot of fun, and you obviously put a great deal of thought into the prizes (glad the children don't get the beer!! )

One year when there was a family-wide ban on adult-to-adult presents I did a lucky dip. I tried to make the little presents suitable for men or women, and people could swap gifts between themselves. It was chaos! Whole nations could have been traded more easily. Never again.

Pictionary always caused laughs and arguments at Christmas but we haven't played any games recently. Headbands was quite popular as the children were growing up.
