    A more promising Christmas!

DD2 has invited OH and I over to their house for a buffet tea and mince pies on Christmas Eve, and to see GD and GS2 do their Christmas Eve Santa preparations. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me
We never see anyone but my mum on Christmas Day so never share the joy of seeing any GC open presents. Not since DD3 was a little girl have I been involved with a child's Christmas Eve, so this invitation means a lot to me.

Also, although we presumed we were all getting together as a family at DD2's on Boxing Day as usual, no invitation had been forthcoming. SIL1 and I were discussing this at GS's nativity play last week!
I think DD didn't realise that she hadn't asked us all until her sister told her, so now we are all invited
We are very happy to have everyone here on Boxing Day as we used to. There is so much more room at DD2's house and all the children's presents are there, so it does make sense to be there. We all (except my mum as I have previously mentioned!) contribute, so it doesn't all fall to DD and SIL. No DD and SIL 3 this year though, and he is an excellent cook.
So, Christmas Day will be peaceful, let's hope, and Christmas Eve and Boxing Day should be lovely!

We are out xmas day to a local restaurant treating DD and DGCs as part of their xmas present it will be good as the boys are between 15 & 27 + one DGD 16 (going on 26) the boys are rarely all together as the boys work all week and there are only 2 at home now they are so funny when they all get together they are all over 6ft tall and with my John being 5' 6ish they refer to him as Grandpa Danny Divito poor man but he sees the funny side x

Gem. I’m so happy for you

I’m going to GD1’s Car0l concert on Friday and it will be the first thing I’ve been to since she was 2 ½. I’ve never been able to go to GD2’s plays etc. Xx

That’s sounds good Gem. We are going to DDs as usual, it’s easier for us to go to them, they’re on,y over the road so no driving for us. Will do the same on Boxing Day. DGD comes home from Australia at the beginning of January, 9th I think, so,we’ll,have another family day then. Can’t wait to see her.
