Hmm, I love sprouts and I love Marmite. I think they could work together, so may consider trying them.

I can't imagine what the two together taste like, but OH hates Marmite, and I'm not keen on sprouts. Can I just have the Marmite, please?

Oh my goodness, yes, Qwerty - they should have been on days ago. I think that's why I'm not keen - childhood memories of sprouts cooked for two months!

Oma - we make a pair then. You have the sprouts and I'll have the Marmite.

I like both, my mother always overcooked them and cabbage, although she was an excellent cook. I also like Marmite but I don't think I would like it on sprouts

I'm going to experiment and put some butter and Marmite on some sprouts and report back!

My Dad would not eat fresh sprouts ( not that we had them very often being good Scots ) but after Mum died he used to buy frozen ones and he'd have a few with his dinner!
I told the DC when they were little that sprouts were baby cabbages !

WeeGranny - we had a dog who thought cabbages were grown up sprouts. He loved raw sprouts and would take them out of the vegetable rack regularly. One day we were visiting relatives, and my BIL fetched a large cabbage from his vegetable garden and left it in the conservatory. The dog wasn't allowed in their house due to allergies so after his walk we put him in the conservatory and didn't notice the cabbage - until SIL went to get it and all that was left were a few chewed up leaves! Unfortunately we were driving home that day - from North Wales to Surrey! With the windows wide open!

Gem - let us know if you liked the sprouts and Marmite! I think I might stick to putting butter and Marmite on my toast.

Good grief, I had mine on since October, the last thing we want is raw sprouts with gravy for Christmas lunch

When my OH was alive, we had our own sprouts, parsnips and potatoes, he didn't pick them or dig the parsnips until Christmas morning. The family still remember how much nicer they were.
