    Little presents

I advised DD3, in Canada for a few months, not to send family presents over for Christmas, to which she readily agreed. They will give DDs 1 and 2 money to buy something from them for the 3 children. She told us not to send anything either and we will all exchange cards.
However I do want to send a few little presents for them to open on Christmas morning in their airbnb cottage where they will be over Christmas.
I will send warm thermal socks for them both, and various chocolate treats. I will print and frame a lovely family photo which was taken at DD3's 30th in May. They quite like board games and haven't any with them, so if I can find a small one I may send one.
Any other suggestions, please, for not too heavy, not too expensive things I can send?

Thermal socks sound good Gemini, when my GD was in Canada for a year I gave her a very nice and warm skiing type gloves.

Im sure the one thing they will love is the Photograph Gem , I know if I was so far away from family that's the one gift I would want ,
How about those little Yankie candle night lights that smell of Christmas they wont be heavy and are quite small you can get a Christmas gift box of 6 quite cheap ,
Is there any sweets they miss from home ?
My SIL sent her friend who was away from home for Christmas a special Christmas bauble to hang on the little Christmas tree she had , this was some years ago now but she still has it and it comes out every year ,
I find garden centres tend to have lots of that kind of things
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, the Yankee Candles in small size are a great idea! They are not planning a tree, as they will be away from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day, otherwise the bauble idea is a good one too.

Gem, what about a travel version of a board game?

I was going to suggest a travel version of a board game.

What about a pack of playing cards. We always keep some in our suitcase.

I went to a local Christmas shopping event last night.
I bought a pack of 4 wooden coasters and a metal robin Christmas decoration to go in DD and SIL's box. They had only one coaster when we were there, and the robin will look jolly hanging up even if they don't have a Christmas Tree.

Gem - they sound ideal, and I'm sure the robin will become a part of all their future Christmases as a reminder of their Canadian adventure.

I am sure they will be very excited when they get their parcel.
