Yesterday I had a mixed shopping day bought a couple of tops good sale in M&S bought s couple of casual summer trousers the baggy sort , I wanted some smart trousers I’ve got plenty of jogging s, leggings and jeans . It used to be bad enough looking for lengths long, short ,medium , regular , shapes now, skinny , slim leg, slim bootcut, bootcut, loose, straight it goes on , but now it’s the waists mid rise, low rise high rise I was completely flummoxed tried the mid rise it was halfway down my hips I would be forever yanking them up, hardly any high rise picked a pair eventually and they wer too big, put them back in the basket to exchange amongst other stuff, for some reason I went to pick a pr up a size smaller only to find when I got home I had bought both pairs, i was chatting to the shop assistant about the buying of carrier bags and was just shoving things into my own bag , thought it seemed a lot of money but must have added it up wrong as you do on the way to the till, luckily I am meeting my DD in our local out of town shopping mall tomorrow so will take a pair back , I then had to buy my friends dil something for the new baby ,felt a bit nostalgic buying babygros and pretty dress so tiny and a book for the older sister so she didn’t feel left out , in the end I had to to go to Hotel Chocolat for a salted caramel hot chocolate, and brownie to help the drink go down all this for s pair of black trousers I need to get out more and get a life !!!!!

Very confusing Qwerty, I usually buy high rise, straight short leg from M&S but lately it has been added to as you said. I have a pair of summer weight navy ones winging their way to me well M&S Food Hall actually, I pick them up from there. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I felt the same the other day when looking for jeans in M & S, Qwerty. Skinny slim leg, boot cut, etc etc, in the end came home without any. You deserved the hot chocolate and brownie, shopping can be so stressful 🙂"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

It's even worse if you suffer from Duck's Disease ( my Dad's description!) i.e. your a*** is too near the ground!! All the short legs seem to have got an extra inch or more added to them. I don't want to have to wear heels all the time so my trouser legs don't scrape along the ground. And sleeves is another bugbear, apart from the lengths of some of them, the top of the arms have hardly any room in them! And blouse that gape over the bosom!
Hope you enjoyed your hot chocolate and brownie Qwerty! I think you deserved them!Believe you can and you're halfway there.

I don't have too much trouble with trousers as far as length is concerned, but the sleeves of tops are a nightmare. Who are all these people who have arms a good 10" longer than mine??? And, as Wee Granny says, sleeves so narrow they would only fit a stick insect!
Why on earth don't the fashion chains make clothes to fit real (in my case, short fat) people! We can't go round naked - it's far too cold and would frighten the horses."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Oh, and another thing ..... while I was in Sainsbury's yesterday I thought I'd get the GDs a couple of outfits for Easter. I found multi sets of t-shirts for both of them. I found a nice dress for the 4 year old. But there was nothing (apart from a Princess outfit) to fit a 7 year old. One rail was jam-packed with quite a nice dress and they had every size - except age 7. Don't 7 year olds need clothes??? There were some lurid looking tights and a couple of things I thought were very tarty for a little girl but that was all.
And then I got home and found the dress, on a 4 year old hanger was actually 5-6 and I think it will be too large for her!

I always buy my trousers from Bon Marche.
Not the most expensive shop i know, but their trousers always fit me nice.
Looked at some trousers in M&S a few weeks ago,but didn't like the fabric.
WeeGranny,my dad always told me i suffered with ducks disease.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I bought some summer trousers from M&S this week, I always buy straight or relaxed skinny (not much difference). Picked up skinny in error but I tried them on at home anyway. Imagine a sausage in it’s skin.....not a good look.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

I have found the perfect trousers at Bon Marche black straight legs in 29" leg fit perfectly with ballerinas and are pull on at the waist with high rise,I can't be doing with all the other rise sizes I feel as though I would need braces.
I'm quite well stocked for blouses and tops I always buy Next as the fit suits me and M&S have done their t-shirts this year with 3/4 sleeves which I wear on a daily basis during the summer with Bon Marche jeans.
There is no way I could visit Hotel Chocolat with out buying a box of their choc's I just adore the place.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Trouser buying is very complicated!!
Bon Marche jeans are the only ones which are the correct length for me, all others have to be taken up as I seem to be between short and regular in most places!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
