    Decision Time

Every one knows I have very long hair (waist length now) the last time I had a really large amount cut off was 3 yrs ago when I had 8/9/inches cut off since then I have only had the usual trim,I don't know if it is just the time of year but my hair seems to have gone a wee bit thinner in its volume and I am considering having a shorter bob cut.DD thinks I will regret it and start moaning about not being able to manage it as well as I do now.
I mostly have it up on top in a big bulldog clip or a high ponytail and I must admit apart from the time it takes to wash and dry its quite easy to manage I am so unsure as to which way to go

I had mine cut last year and the best thing I did , it was feeling very thin and all I did with it was tie it up ,
Mind you I had short hair for about 40+ years before I grew it so going back to short wasn't a problem to me
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I love long hair Glamma and had waist length hair like yours.
I now have it shoulder length.
I would say, if you want to have it cut do so, as unlike something like a tattoo, it is not a permanent. decision You can always grow it again if you regret it. But as Nan2 says, only you can decide in the end.

Glam - as Nanto has said, only you can decide. My GD1 has just gone through the same process. Her hair wasn't quite as long as yours but it's her pride and joy - thicks with a natural wave and easy to put into lots of different styles. Unfortunately, she keeps getting nits - as fast as they get rid of them the little blighters are back, she asked her mum about having it cut short. She'd seen a short, gamin sort of style she loved, but her mum was worried if GD didn't like it it would take her a long time to regrow it. So in the end she has had it cut so it just sits on her shoulders but she can still do it up in various ways. She's delighted with it, and we're keeping our fingers crossed!

When in doubt - do nowt Glam. Perhaps wait a bit till you are sure.

I've heard the thing to do when going from long to short is not to have it cut off with one cut. Heard it's best to go a shorter length then again shorter if you like it & so on. I admire those people (male & female) who have really long hair & have a shorter cut but donate their hair to Cancer Trusts to make real hair wigs.

Like the others have said tho Glam it's how you feel about it.💇🏼‍♀️

I had waist length hair and was advised to cut it in two stages. Shoulder length at first which I stayed with for a couple of years then shorter which I have kept to for a long time now. Finding a good stylist makes all the difference.

Graham my hairdresser is going to let me try on a few of his wigs in different lengths and see how I feel at the minute I am looking at maybe just having it cut to below my shoulders so I can still put it up on top maybe a win win outcome.

Glamma, that's what I did when I had my waist length hair cut. I can have it loose or tied back or put up.
Wigs to try is a great idea!

Trying on wigs is a great idea Glam. I wish all hairdressers offered that. I'd love to see what I looked like with grey hair.

Glamm - what a good idea to try a wig before any action with the scissors!

You're right about finding a good stylist Shem. I thought my last new stylist was good until my DD pointed out it was unevenly cut at the back. Have you noticed that if you look on a hair salon site the clients all have long hair, colours of the rainbow dyes & double reflection, ( what's that about?). You're lucky to have Graham, Glam.
