Oma - wow - yours has certainly grown. It's nice to have some options, though - up, down, neat, casual, a bit up and down. Mine's just below my ears, but not long enough to put up at all. But then I'm useless with the GDs' hair too. GD2 went out with asymmetrical bunches the other day, tied up with two different coloured bobbles because I couldn't find two the same. Fortunately she doesn't care, unlike GD1 who is very fussy about her hair.

😆😆 Both my DDs were very fussy too. GD hates having her hair styled....all the others are boys. GS1 has his hair done with the clippers by DD1, he has some interesting styles as she is more used to clipping horses....

GM - My mind is running wild at the thought of your GS1's possible hair styles - pony tails, plaited manes, feathers .....

One of the learning curves for me was finding out that small female children can be very blunt about grandma's lack of hair styling skills!!

My mum had no experience of long hair and she kept mine short as a child, I only grew it once I was able to take care of it myself.
My 3 DDs had waist length hair as children. When they had sleepovers at Nanna's they came back with all sorts of (messy!) styles

Your Mum was ahead (excuse the pun!) of the fashions, Gem.

I had my 6 weekly trim yesterday, then went to do a bit of shopping. I was browsing round our local kitchen shop and the lady behind the counter asked if she could help with anything. I said no I was just looking, and then she said she loved my hair, where did I go and she wished she could have her curly hair like that. We had a quick chat about how much I'd love curly hair and how much she would love poker straight locks! We're never satisfied, are we!!!

I have curly/wavy hair Daisy, and now embrace it (apart from my fringe which I straighten) For years I detested it and longed for straight hair!
