Finally gone and done it !!!

After all the thinking for the past year or so I finally went to-day to the Hair Salon and had my hair cut in total I lost about 14" and it now rests just below my shoulders in a thick cut bob with a full fringe,I do love it (I think) as soon as I get the courage I will post pictures but it could be a couple of days. xxx

Well done , it's a big step , I have grown my hair this year after about 30 or more years of having short hair so we have gone in opposite directions 😊

That's one way to loose weight.
It'll be lovely to see the New You. Sounds a nice length still a very versatile style.

Well done, Glamm. It will take a few days to get used to it, but I'm sure it will be easy to manage and you will be even more glamm.

Wow, that's a big step Glamma.
I too had waist length hair with no fringe until my mid to late 30's and loved it. I wish had kept it for longer but I thought I was getting too old for long hair (looking back of course, I wasn't!) Mine now sits on my shoulders, a manageable length, but easy to put up whenever I want. I had a fringe cut in at the same time. That is the only part of my hair which needs much attentions, as I have to straighten it!
I'm sure yours will look lovely, and be easier to look after. As you say, you just need to get used to it after so many years.

Thanks for the comments girls, its still long enough to put up and I have loads of hair pieces to add volume when it is up so best of both worlds I think,if you see the hair colour advert with Divina & Holly mine is cut the same as Davina's so still nice and femine,I am slowly getting the use of my right arm back so blow drying is becoming easier every time I do it and its not as though I have to be up and away early of a morning now I am retired from work I can take the time doing a blow dry when I want rather than just clipped up with a bull dog hair clip.

Sounds nice, Glammananna. I did the opposite way and went from very short to shoulder length. Actually easier to look after and I'd never go back to,short now.

Enfys, I've done the same. I find a chin-length bob is the easiest to manage. It does take quite a long time to dry, but I can let it dry naturally if I'm not going out and then just tidy it up with a hot brush.
