I've been wondering for the past few months as to why my hair has seemed to have really slowed down growing, does anyone else notice this at certain times of the year, mine seems to have slowed right down since I had a trim last December any comments most welcome.

Glamma, I haven't noticed it slowing down really. I have it trimmed every 6 weeks, and she takes a fair amount off each time to keep it at this length. Body hair growth slows down as we get older, so maybe head hair does too for some people?“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Glamm, I think hair growth does vary from season to season, and as Mimi says, it's more noticeable if your hair is short. I bet if you had a trim you'd notice it growing again.

I have grown my hair it's now past my shoulder,s but seems to have taken forever to get to this length . When I had short hair it had to be cut every 6 weeks it grew so fast , you do notice it more when it's short . Mine seemed to grow in the summer but not much last winterIm not fat just 6ft too small

My hair grows like mad it is now short, but has been every lenght under the sun. I have a regular trim every 6 weeks to maintain the style. Sometimes wish I hadn't had it all cut off, but another time I'm glad I have, it is so easy to keep tidy."What doesn't kill us,makes us stronger."

My hair is halfway down my back but falls out a lot so not very thick these days. I must admit I have not been to the hairdresser for about five months where I used to go faithfully once a month and I really need to find the time. I wear it up most of the time either in a structured bun or a messy bun or a sort of chignon. I have lots of hair thingies but if I am leaving the house at 7am to go up to town a messy bun is easier, I just pull it in a pony tail and don't pull through the last bits and then flatten it with my hand and pin it. Sometimes it looks quite spectacular and intricate and sometimes it looks complete rubbish and I have to repair it in the office loo.If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

Glamma, I have always understood that hair had a natural length? For some people it can be down to their ankles, for others the shoulder blades would be as long as they could grow it. For many years mine was waist length. Trimmed or left to its own devices, which it often was in those days, it never grew any longer. Is this the longest your hair has been? If so, perhaps it has reached its ultimate length?“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I'm impressed. I grew mine longer than I normally have it, but felt embarrassed because I get so hot & perspire (natural heat loss from the head) that I was finding my hairline was wet through. I had it cut last week to a shorter length again. I've been to this new hairdresser about four times now & its been a really good cut. S**s Law my last cut is awful. I don't know how you manage with such long hair. It must take ages to dry."Good friends help you to find important things when you have lost them....your smile, your hope, and your courage."

Glamm - that hair clip is a real Carmen Miranda look - very glam and exotic!
I always want my hair to be long when it's short and visa versa. Some people are never happy!
