Dermologica Biosurface Peel

Like many of us as we get older I have several brown 'age spots' (sun damage) and various blemishes. As you know my DIL has her own beauty salon and for my birthday treated me to the new Dermologica Biosurface Peel. I had the first (you normally have between 3 and 6 treatments) this week and I am very pleased with the results. The treatment can only be given by a qualified therapist and is not your usual relaxing type of treatment as it can cause some people some discomfort, but the beautician should regularly check whether any of the treatment is uncomfortable on a scale of 1-10. My scale was only 0.5, I am pleased to say! Basically it is a powerful skin resurfacing treatment and it helps reduce pigmentation and signs of premature ageing. You are given a skin care kit and strict instructions about keeping out of the direct sun for a couple of weeks. I will be able to fit in another session before we go on holiday allowing for the time when you must stay out of the sun and will have another when we get back. I can see the difference - can you?

Remarkable difference Avo. HUGE thanks for the tip. I'm lucky not to have many age spots, just two, but it looks as though my face could benefit from the refreshing ofo the skin this gives. I shall wait until after my holiday in the sun though. I think winter may be the best time for me personally.

I can see the difference Avo. After your next treatment I would imagine there will be an even bigger difference.

i'll try to give you an update after my next treatment...... the aftercare seems to be pretty straight forward and i've not experienced any problems so far. Next treatment is in August .... watch this space!

I think 'age spots' are rather a misnomer - sun damage is more accurate! (i'm not 60 yet) I think freckles would be reduced in the same way Plant as they are pigmentation in the same way as age spots are.

I thought my brown mark was just sun damage but my eagle eyed Dr thought it worth investigating. It turned out to be Lentigo Maligna which is a pre cancerous condition. I now have a huge 'v' shaped scar which covers one side of my face after surgery. This was in February and the scar is improving gradually.
Please do be careful when considering skin treatments. It is worth having marks checked first.

It is of no consequence Gem, I forget I have it and my friends say they don't notice it now. The GCs asked the obvious questions at the beginning but accept it now, make up or no make up.

I didn't mean to spoil Avo's post but knowing what I now know I feel it's important. The op was unpleasant to say the least. Lentigo Maligna can spread quickly and goes darker.

OK so had the second treatment yesterday. The top photo is before and after of the first treatment and bottom picture is before and after of second treatment. It is recommended to have at least 3 and I will have another after we get back from Portugal (you must avoid the sun for 2-3 weeks after treatment) avoiding the sun has been
the hardest part fortunately we have lots of trees in our garden and I have worn a sunhat (not exactly glamorous) when out and about.
