I wear whichever perfume fits my mood. My very favourite is Chanel no 5 but I also have Chanel Coco, Very irresistible by Givenchy, four little handbag bottles of Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Ysatis by Givenchy which was my favourite a long time ago, Cool Water by Davidhoff, DIor Addict, Happy by Clinique, and FLowers by Kenzo. I don't wear perfume every single day ut do wear it when I am going out. No 5 is my absolute favourite, I like Cool Water in the summer because it smells like the seaside, and Flowers is my second favourite,

i used to to wear Youth Dew by Estée Lauder but suddenly found that it was making me itch.

Zizi, you have reminded me that Davidhoff Cool Water Woman used to be my summer perfume, in the blue bottle!

I wear perfume all the time and often replenish it in the middle of the day - don't know why as often no one but me smells it. DH has no sense of smell at all. Current favourite is Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford it is unisex I think but I like the less feminine smell more so it suits me.

Does anyone remember Soir de Paris - it came in a lovely dark blue bottle. My Mother used to wear it and I found a bottle in the cupboard when I was clearing out after she died. Still remember the smell now.

Smells are so evocative aren't they BL? they can take you right back to a time and place. Coconut shampoo and conditioner takes me back to my first foreign family holiday, in Portugal in the mid 80's. We took coconut shampoo and conditioner with us, it was the first time I had used it. One whiff of that and I am back there

I mentioned this in my earlier post, because I can remember it. It used to be called Evening in Paris.

I remember evening in Paris Nano2. I loved it.

I do like Chanel's Coco. Still got a bit left. I loved Youth Dew when I was younger but don't wear it now. I love going round duty free when at airports to find bargains. I don't always find one I like though. OH used to buy me Poison and also that oriental one, hmmm, oh yes Opium which is a bit too harsh for me now.

4711 always evokes memories. There are some less expensive toilet waters I love, there used to be Apple Blossom by Coty I think, I loved that.

Elisi you go for the strong lasting smells which I think only certain people can wear. My Mother wore Youth Dew for the last few years of her life and even now the smell brings back memories of her immediately. As Gem says smells our evocative. Apparently even when we have memory loss for things we see and sounds we hear the olfactory memory lasts. I can relate to that on so many levels. Roasted chestnuts means walking through London with my Father on a Winter's evening. Garlic and certain herbs my first ever pizza at a restaurant some forty years ago. So many I could go on forever.

My daughter wanted some Emporio Armani She perfume for her birthday. Off I went this morning to buy it (now I have cash and cards back!) and inspired by the thread bought myself some more Kenzo Flowers as well, as I was squeezing the last drops out of the bottle!

Gem - it's good to treat yourself occasionally.

Elisi - have you tried Poison Tendre - it's lighter than Poison and might be more wearable. I think it's gorgeous.

I wear CK1 by Calvin Klein for everyday and have been using Dune by Dior for going out. I also like flowery perfumes sometimes too. When I was much younger I liked Tweed...that's going back a bit....and Charlie. My mother always wore 4711 and if ever I see a bottle it always reminds me of her.

Clover I have seen Sunflowers on sale at "Savers" home & beauty shops it might be worth a look behind their perfume counter,I use Chanel Chances after using No 5 for many years and keep the fragrance going all day with their body cream and also have Angel but use sparingly & for special occasions, I always ask for them as presents if I'm running low,and for everyday I use a Victoria Secrets Body mist in Strawberry & Champagne which is nice and light,I also have a few others which are used for work.
