I always mean to be measured properly but never seem to have the time, or the assistant is busy or I can't be bothered. I was measured in M&S a long time ago but the assistant had to admit defeat as nothing in stock was a good fit. I have heard that Rigby & Peller are a good place to go. Has anyone been fitted by them?

I can remember my Ma in law being fitted at home by a very well known company, alas I can't remember the name. They stopped trading and she had great difficulty finding a bra to fit after that.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

I go to a lady called Sadie the bra lady she doesn't use a tape measure as such just takes a look and runs her hand across your back . Only uses a tape measure once fitted to make sure . I went to her some years ago I had been wearing a 40B as recommended by M&S she took one look and said 38DD my god the difference when I put the right size on I was supported in the right places and didn't have any bits bulging out .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Make sure you've got your credit cards with you if you go to R&P......a bit on the expensive side!! They fit the Queen, so you'll be in good company! I go to a specialist shop and like Oma's lady, the owner looks at you and produces a bra which make you look so much better than you did. And it's amazing just how much a size can change from one fitting to the next! I wouldn't recommend M&S though I know a lot of people swear by them. If you have a lingerie shop near you, try them.Believe you can and you're halfway there.

GM - I have a friend who goes to Rigby and Peller in London. I think you have t make an appointment, but she says they are wonderful!
My sister-in-law is a trained fitter (now retired) and she measured me in JLP a couple of years ago, which was great for that particular bra, but styles and fittings change and I couldn't get another one the same.! Last time I was measured (I can't say 'fitted'!) in M&S the assistant said I needed a 36D. The one I'd picked up as looking 'right' was 38C. After trying every combination of sizes between hers and mine, she agreed on 38C!! But different styles, different sizes I've found. When I do find a comfy bra that doesn't make me look like Madonna in her conical era or as though the girls have gone right down south I buy several the same."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are.
