We talked a while ago about growing hair and not colouring hair and there were varying opinions. I have now grown mine to the longest bob I have had in many a long year and all the colour is gone leaving a mixture of white, gunmetal grey, and all the shades in-between. This week my granddaughter declared it to be "really cool" which, coming from someone that rarely gives a compliment, was a bit of a surprise. However, I need some advice about the condition. Now there is no expensive colourant in it I am left with dry look hair with not a great deal of life. I do use heated tongs to make it look a little better but that, of course, just makes the overall condition worse. Anyone know of a magic conditioning formula that doesn't cost the earth and does take three hours to work please.

I use coconut oil as a face wash in the mornings, leaves my face nice and soft but does leave a residue around the sink. I find it better to wait for the moisture to go and then clean the sink, makes it nice and shiny, same as my face!If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

I have been out shopping and come back armed with Pantene Argan oil and also Waitrose are doing Pantene repair and protect shampoo and condition on BOGOF so I got one of each. All the products say that they help with split ends so I am hoping for an improvement. I do also have split middles as well so it has got a lot of work to do. Thanks everyone for the recommendations.Be careful when blindly following the Masses.

BL - Well done for sticking with the plan to grow your hair.
Try doing your final rinse in cold - or at least very cool water. That helps to smooth down the scaly outsides of each hair. Also there are several conditioners which add shine. I like the Charles Worthington Shine Booster conditioner."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Tried the Argan Oil this morning - hair very damp from shower but not shampooed - and it has made a difference already. I only used a small amount and hair is less flyaway. The costs is good and at this rate it will last for ages. Will try the shampoo and condition next time to see if that helps too. I always used the Ozzie shampoo and conditioner but that was not helping. The oil is brilliant. No more split ends look. Incidentally doesn't make hair look or feel greasy either.
