Now I am getting on slightly only slightly mind you but I am in need of a few bras I usually buy them from Bravissimo but at £30 each and needing three I am thinking twice, as of late I find the wires digging in my side and getting irritable with it, I have wondered what unwired bras may be like I am not a small person in that dept so a bit wary and since its been so warm I am fed up of them digging me under my ribs if I could find them lol, but I still want pretty bras, and unwired ones seem a little dare I say old fashioned I am beginning the need for comfort these days though

I have the same trouble Qwerty and the bones dig into the middle of my breast bone , I have taken to putting makeup pads in the middle so the wire doesn't stick into my breast bone , but I still have the trouble of under arm , I do have a couple of those pull on stretch bra`s a bit like a sports bra with no wires they very comfy not sure of the support but so nice no sticking in and cool, not pretty mind you I have one in Black and one skin tone for under white topsIm not fat just 6ft too small

I cannot wear under wired bras due to surgery. It is hard to find a good supportive bra. Have a look at the Nicola Jane web site or the Royce site. The staff are very helpful.Women are like tea bags; you never know how strong they are until they are put in hot water.

I haven't worn underwire bras for some time now. I was concern at first that any other sort of bra wouldn't give me the support I want. I am a 38c cup , not the largest of sizes I grant you but starting at a size 34b before the menopause to ending up the size I am now was quite a shock I can tell you ! I buy the best bras I can afford and I have found that good quality non wired bras do give me the support I need. I admit that I do replace the old bras with new ones more often than I did with the under wired bras but that's fine by me.
Can I ask does anyone else find that come the end of the day it is sheer bliss to take your bar off , that's another thing that changed for me after the menopause, I can't wait to get my bra off and relax. Is it just me ?Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I am about to buy some new bras, in fact today I have ordered two from Bravissimo. I am never quite sure of my size now but have sent off the order and hope for the best. I wear under wired bras, do not have a problem with them, I also like comply straps. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

A few months ago I decided to get some new bra's, I wanted some coloured ones besides black and white.First stop was M&S, they had some pretty coloured ones, but they were padded, which I don't like. In fact most shops seemed to have padded bra's.
We went to Sainsburys in Trinity Walk in Wakefield one day. They had non padded bra's in every colour you could imagine, so I stocked up.Considering they are supermarket bra's,they fit nice and wash well.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I was wearing 38c for years and then got measured in M&S and was told I was 40d. These did prove more comfortable but like others, will do all I can to avoid wearing a bra and look for sun dresses that I think I will get away with. Hard enough to breath in this muggy weather without a bra that feel like a crushing machine!xx

Bras, just what I have been thinking....I have threw 2 bras out because they were uncomfortable, and last time I wore them I said the same thing, so now there in the bin, im going through a horrible time at the minute, inbetween sizes if I go up a size then I look bigger than I am, and I don't want that, I have just bought some pretty strappy dresses for my holidays and want a strapless bra, but the ones I have worn, don't seem to have much support, I too have taking to walking around the house without a bra on, not a good look really, and if someone called I wouldn't open the door, when OH came in he said "are you wearing a bra", me yes why, (I wasn't really) he took the safe answer and said nothing, next day I put one of those support bras on, but it didn't do anything apart from flatten them so my tummy stuck out more.....eeeeh how am I going get into my bikini, awww now that's something else. for another day....so no help here but will see what you ladies suggest....

Hate brasHave awful trouble finding them as I am small breasted, only cup A but with a back size of 40-42. Resorting to sports bras as they just do the job without digging into the ribs. I have put so many searches into google about my size and come up with sad old things which no one wants to wear.

Loving this thread, it makes me smile
Yes to looking forward to taking off my bra. I went to the loo on the plane home to remove mine, I wasn't flying overnight wearing it. I was planning to put it back on before we landed, but didn't bother, no one would notice. However on arrival at Heathrow, although only 7am, it was too hot for the jacket I had. I couldn't let the Zizis see me braless, so I went into the airport loo to replace the bra
I wear underwired, and as some of you have said, the wires dig in and hurt under my arms. My OH cant wear bras due to her post surgery scar on her back so wears those pull on ones. As she's never had a baby or breastfed, she doesn't need the support some of us do!!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
