    Trying on clothes

Talking on the chat about ordering clothes online and buying in the shop ,
I was saying the Roman near us don’t always have in the shop what is online and their Changing rooms are very small .

Im not keen trying on in store I prefer to try on at home then I can have a good look in my own time ,
Of course there are times if we are away and I see something , then I have to try it on it’s too far away to take back if it’s no good .

When we had the Pandemic a lot of shops closed their changing rooms and never reopened them ,

Trouble ordering online and not fitting a lot of companies charge for returns ,
Luckily I have always found Roman , Damart and some others fit well , pot luck I suppose .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

I order quite a lot of clothes on-line, I didn’t realise that some stores have closed their changing rooms. I have several pairs of Damart summer trousers. I can’t remember the last time I tried on clothes in a shop.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Do you know I cant remember when I last was in a changing room in a shop!

I have waited for OH who isn't so keen on buying clothes online but not been in for myself.
Like you Oma I am generally lucky in that what I choose online fits and suits me. I have a dress which arrived yesterday from Bon Marche which I will be sending back. The reviews did warn to order 2 sizes smaller but I didn't dare. Hence I need to change for a smaller size.
I have been very lucky otherwise and I do order a lot of clothes online.

I usually order on line, if I go to TKMaxx I sometimes try things on, but, must rather do it at home.

I can't remember when I last tried clothes in a shop either! I think if you can find a few online brands that generally fit and suit you it's much more comfortable trying on at home. There are also good option for returns as well now, rather than having to queue up at the Post Office. It's a good bonus if returns are free!

I never go in a clothes shop, its my worst nightmare.
Although a few weeks ago i went into Bon Marche for some trousers.
I always get the same ones,so i went straight to the the rack and then to the till.
Skirts i get from Damart. I know they fit ok.

Nanto, I used to quite enjoy clothes shopping, years ago, but like you now, I'd much rather buy online.

Oma, it could well be an age thing. I didn't mind when i was a teenager.
But,back then, we didn't have the option of online shopping.

I mentioned elsewhere about buying some summer clothes from Romans, the first time I've ever bought from them. The parcel arrived incredibly quickly, and dresses even had hangers with them.

I tried everything on yesterday. Two pairs of cropped trousers - same design - both perfect, apart from no pockets, but I am really pleased with them. A frock which is posh for me - dark navy and white, and something I'll definitely need new sandals for - gorgeous, and fitted really well. A lovely 'posh' top which goes perfectly well with one pair of the trousers and also fits well. And the most expensive item - another dress - awful! The colours didn't look great in real life, and it didn't fit properly anywhere - tight round the midriff, the waist seam was several inches below what I like to regard as my waist-line, and the neck didn't sit properly. So all in all, a great first buying spree at Romans, and I'll definitely buy more from there.

Glam, an interesting comment on "What are you doing today" about liking ditsy patterns. I love to see them and have tried several tops and dresses over the years, but for some reason they look awful on me. I would have thought with being small they would suit me, but it seems not! Neither do very large patterns.
