    Bras

There has been some discussion on bras on Chat, so I thought a thread would be a good idea.

Have you been fitted for a bra? If not do you know how to measure? Or are you confident of your size and always buy the same?
I have been measured at M&S years ago. I'm not sure the bras I bought then fitted any better than any other.
Instructions on measuring yourself seem to differ depending on what you read!!
Mine ride up at the back which they say means it is too big!
    Confused of York .

I go to a lady called Sadie the Bra lady , she has been going many years
She is brilliant so are her staff , she can tell by passing her hand over your back and just looking at you .

I have tried M&S and House of Fraser fittings and they didn’t fit well

There is another shop in Darlington I once went too and they were good too , both independent shops .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I have never been fitted for a bra.
I'm fortunate that all my bras fit well and are comfortable.
Last year i stocked up on new ones.
Besides the usual white and black ones,i now have some in many different colours.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto - good for you. My bra drawer is a desert of white, black and 'skin tone'. So boring, but most nice colours I see are lacy and they bring me out in a rash.

My sister-in-law who is a trained fitter measured me some years ago, and I'm sure she was right, but I found the band was too tight under the cups and went up a size. She was quite correct in saying that wouldn't sit as well, but there's a fine line between comfort and perky boobs.

Before that, I'd been measured by an M&S fitter who got it totally wrong for the style of bra I wanted. She gave up on me, poor lady.

I find 'balcony cups' fit better, but can't always get them in a plain unfussy style.

I’ve been buying from Miss Mary of Sweden for a few years now. Wide straps, widish band under the best and, important to me, they have some cotton choices. Probably more for comfort than the look! I had a fitting with M&S. The fitter was bored and disinterested so I guess she was volunteered rather than doing it from choice!

Shem, I like Miss Mary as well, expensive but worth the money.

Shem, I was looking at Miss Mary bras online as they had been mentioned on here. I want some cotton content to wear in Florida. I think I will order.

Shem - Miss Mary bras sound just what I'm looking for. I much prefer cotton.

I’ve had mine for a few years now and need to think about replacing them. Just need to get the next few weeks done and dusted.

I ordered 2 bras by the way, but they haven't arrived yet. I am in no hurry for them though

I am just stocking up with new knickers and bras from M&S, mine were looking a bit sad and I (unlike Lizzie) have put on weight during lockdown and don’t seem to have the incentive to diet. I ordered them online. There used to be a shop near that fitted bras, gone now.
