    Clothes

Tonight I was sorting the washing to go in the wash tomorrow ,
Looking at some blouses and I realised I am wearing the same blouses I have wore for the past 3 years ,

I do have favourites im reluctant to get rid of but I also realised I haven't bought any new blouses for a couple of years,

I have bought Trousers , a couple of Dresses and cardigans , shoes etc but no tops and they are getting passed their best now .
Trouble is with lockdown and not going out it hasn't been a priority plus I haven't seen anything on line I can say I liked .

I cant wear T-shirts im just not a casual type of person I do not own even one T-shirt ,
I'm not keen on long sleeves and I hate anything with frills bows or anything difficult to iron ,
Hate Linen as I can't cope with creasing
I like to see what I'm buying so till I can get to cloth shops I may be stuck with these till then and hope they don't drop off my back .

To be honest I am sick of seeing the same blouses
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Same here with jumpers, Oma. I still wear stuff from years ago! No-one is going to see me so I’m really not bothered but it would be nice to find something new.
Nothing I see on line really appeals and I really do have a wardrobe full.

I wear quite a lot of jumpers and cardigans. I do have a couple of blouses. In the summer I wear lightweight tops in the summer. This year there are a lot of floral clothes, so I don't think I will be buying any. Famous last words.

When I look at photos, I am often wearing tops I wear now on ones taken years back!
I do buy new stuff though!

Just can't throw away the old stuff, I know the feeling. I think there are going to be huge queues at the Charity Shops when they open again.

Plant, I agree. The charity shops will be overwhelmed. I’ve done quite a lot of throwing out, mostly more dressy things that I just don’t wear anymore. There’s a charity called something like Bags4Schools which our village preschool group is collecting for to raise money for new premises. They seem to come about every 3 months and I’m sure I’ll have at least one bin bag full for their next collection. I tend to wear the same old things day in day out, but I have bought tops, jumpers and jeans on line during lockdown.

I bought 4 new tops online from Bon Marche.I think it was about November.
I have a few blouses but prefer patterned tops.Don't have any t-shirts now.
I'm another that prefers short sleeves. If i buy a blouse,it had to be without a collar.
Collars on blouses look untidy to me if i want to wear a cardigan at the same time.
Not long ago,i bought 3 cardigans from Damart. They are all the same, just different colours.
I like them because they wash well, and i like my cardigans to have pockets.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Yes Nanto, I like pockets, you have to have somewhere to put your hankie.

Oh yes, pockets. And so hard to find clothes with them.

I think I’m the only woman in the world who hates wearing trousers (although I do when walking or outdoors in winter) and long for the warm weather when I can get back into a skirt or dress and go bare legged.

As for new clothes, I’ve bought two winter dresses, online, all in sales, one in dark navy which I’ve worn three times to funerals, one which I wore on Christmas Day with nobody to see it except DH - and I could wear sackcloth and ashes and he wouldn’t notice - and two spring / summer dresses which are hanging up and I need to shed three pounds to stop them feeling tight.

As for other stuff, I keep things for ever. I found a photo of me 29 years ago wearing the same skirt that I dig out every summer. But smart jackets that I used for work or court I disposed of a few years ago as I’ve nowhere to wear them to these days and the silhouette changes and they looked old fashioned.

Sum - I have got one other friend who hates wearing trousers, although she does wear them these days for her daily walk in the Forest!

I wonder how many of us have DH and families who wouldn't notice what we wore. Mine OH and family never comment so I don't know if they don't notice or don't like to tell me the awful truth!!

I think if you've got a good skirt which you still enjoy wearing, keep digging it out, and congratulate yourself on what a bargain it was all those years ago.

By the way, the charity I mentioned in post number 6 is Bags2Schools.

When I was working full time I had a good collection of blouses which I wore under a jacket I had about 5/6 all from Next as they had the right fit for me I cannot wear a blouse which has a collar or neckline which goes across my throat so Next styles suited me well, they have been passed to DD and she uses them for work now.
Last week in Morrisons I came across some ladies fashions and found t-shirts/tunics style tops with 3/4 sleeves really good cotton and a good neck line they where slightly longer and covered a lot of lumps and bumps so I bought 2 one navy striped/yellow one white/navy striped I was shocked that they where £7 each I decided to go back this week and buy 2 more but they where sold out
Apart from shoes these are the only clothing I have bought for a long time,I'm also waiting for the charity shops to reopen as I have 3 x bags to deliver to them, plus they just may have some good bargains for me to browse through .

I ordered my mum another cardigan from Edinburgh Woollen Mill. Whilst browsing I bought two tops for myself! A sleeveless summer one and a long sleeved one. Both tunic style.
Not in the sale where I get a lot of my clothes, but I just decided to treat myself to new tops

I am very pleased with them and I'm sure mum will like her cardigan when I take it to her tomorrow.

Glamm - I like Next, too, although I've only ever bought from the shop, not online. I also love their girls' clothes too for the GDs, but GD1 is at an age now where she likes to choose her own things. Bargains don't hang around, do they! Perhaps Morrisons will get some more in though.

Gem - I've bought a few tops from EWM, and they've been very useful and washed well. It's a pity the shops have now closed, though. What colour cardigan did you get for your mum?
