    Special Clothes

In the Laura Ashley thread Glamm commented on a particular LA blouse which she loved so much she'd sometimes wash it overnight so she could wear it two days running.

Tell us about your special clothes - what they looked like, colour, style, etc, and if there was any special reason why you loved them.

I have a few special things one is a
Etam dress I have had about 10 years or more , it's white with big red roses on it , I bring it out every summer it's just a straight column dress but I absolutely adore it and feel good in it , I dread when it's no longer fit to wear ,

I also have a navy blue velvet top with a crumb catcher neckline again I have had this many many years and it comes out to wear with Black trousers on special occasions ,

Quite a few of my nice pieces are dresses I have worn only for weddings and going somewhere special and a lot I have had for many years
Im not fat just 6ft too small

I always feel good in a linen trouser suit I have had for a long time it goes well together and as separates not too OTT just classic and comfy to wear.
A boyfriend style cardigan from Next bought about 5 yrs ago which hides a multitude of sins is also a favourite.
Also a couple of cheesecloth sun dresses which come out every year and are certainly wash & wear my ideal holiday staples.

Two quilted coats. They are Danish and I had them as samples when we wholesaled them. That was 10 years ago, so before then! I wear them every winter and they are just beginning to wear around the cuffs. If you see Junge coats they are very hard wearing! 😁

I have given this a lot of thought today and can't think I have a favourite item of clothing, I have go to clothes which I do wear more than others.

When I was in my 20's my mum knitted me a mohair cardigan, which I had seen the pattern for in a magazine. Pastel stripes which were sort of zigzaggy. I loved that garment! I told my poor children it was knitted from the hairs of little Mos. It was years before they realised
I loved the pattern so much mum made DDs1 and 2 cardigan of the same pattern but ordinary wool and different colours. She could always adapt patterns and could knit anything without a pattern at all.
At the same time I had a white cotton quilted jacket with blue embroidery on.
I once had a summer jacket with narrow blue and white stripes in seersucker which I loved.

I don't have any favourite clothes now.

My favourite clothes at the moment are a pair of grey/silver slim leg trousers I bought for our 50th wedding anniversary, and a very ordinary pink t-shirt. The trouble is I hardly dare wear them in case I wear them out.

I'll have to have a think about clothes from years gone by!
