The link didn’t work Grauntie, but here’s a photo. Yes, I remember this, my Mum used it, a lovely smell. You could, get it in little solid sticks as well, handy for the handbag. Amazon do it.

No, Gem. Will have to sniff it out. 😁
I didn’t realise 4711 was made in Germany until I read the label Oma. I am interested in the reason for the name. I will investigate.
Thanks Enfys for rescuing me, for some reason the link works for me.
LG you have jogged my memory. I do remember the solid stick.

I think I read that it was named after the house number the inventor lived in GM but I may be wrong

                I remember it Grauntie.
Gem, i can remember Aqua Manda as well.
Can anyone remember Evening in Paris perfume in the blue bottle.
My granny always had a bottle of it in her handbag.
So did a lot of other ladies from the same era.
It's now called Soir de Paris.

Oma - I think you're right - the name came from the house number of the inventor (or his mum).

I remember the name Aquu Manda - it always fascinated me.

Nanto - I had an aunt who had relatives in Paris and she always came back with "Soir de Paris", which I should was very exotic!

My mum never used anything like perfume, bath products or skin products and I always loved going to my friend's because of the lovely scents in their bathroom!

                    Interesting Oma.
I remember the Evening in Paris bottle too but can’t recall the smell. I don’t much like the modern perfumes, either too heavy or sweet and some just smell chemical to me! Mind you, my sense of smell is not all it should be!

I think my sense of smell has definitely changed - or the ingredients for some of my long-time favourite fragrances have!

I used to wear the same perfume every day for ages, and then switch to another one, but now I like to have two or three on the go but don't wear it every day.

I usually forget to put on perfume. So a bottle lasts me ages.

Mum used to sprinkle 4711 on hankies!
I remember the blue bottles of Evening in Paris......wasn't the Eiffel Tower on the label?
                              Aqua Manda.......can't remember that.
