Nana I love the streaky effect it will soon grow out at this rate.
I have dyed my hair for years now it has always been blonde since a baby but when I was in my 20s it was a sort of dirty blonde and I started to dye it to brighten it up a bit and have continued ever since.
It now comes through almost white at the roots but I use a Nice & Easy in Baby Blonde every 8 weeks or so,in fact I have done it this week ready for my holidays, but with my hair being so long I have to use 2 x boxes at a time now so that it covers the whole length of the hair.
I always used N&E no 103 but they keep changing the colour codes on the boxes over the years so have to make sure I keep a box top in my drawer to get the same colour every time I do wish the brands would stop changing the colour codes.
I would love to have the colour Qwerty had hers a month or so ago it was fab but I am not brave enough.

Nana that could be me in that photo as that is exactly the same stage of grey roots I have. Let me know what you decide to do. At the moment I am ignoring my roots as I am not sure what to do .I am rather board with dying my hair now it seems such a palaver to go through

Nana - well done! The roots are actually blending in well, and having it cut regularly it will soon be 'au naturel'!

I've been growing mine for a while now, and it finally feels as though it's getting close to the length I think I want. Of course, I may change my mind and have it all cut off next time I go to the hairdressers!

I'm not letting it bother me Mimi. My only indindecision is whether to keep the length. It's at a length I like now but to have it a bit shorter would help the greying process. Not really short, as I need to cover my scar.

Glam I got fed up sitting ages in the hairdressers & felt the condition of my hair getting dryer with each visit. It will save money too. It will be interesting to see what it looks like when all the dye has gone.

Nana - if you feel the grey isn't quite what you want to can get all sorts of rinse in wash out products that just lift and enhance the grey to a shade you like.

Mine is a bit yellow in places, but I quite like it although I know a lot of people use a rinse to neutralise the yellow bits.

I can see I'll have to do some research. Thanks Daisy.

Plant - I've told me hairdresser that if I ever come in and ask for a purple rinse and mean something that a punk would have, not an old lady lilac! But pastel shades are very fashionable at the moment and I've been very tempted to have some coloured streaks in. OH freaked out at the mere idea so I didn't do it.

                        Getting there. Glad I'm persevering.

I was just thinking when us 'Northern Belles' met in York. Just as I sat at the table I saw GJules who has lovely grey hair. I was greeted warmly as usual by everyone & then I put my head down for GJs to look at my grey. She gave a bit of a surprised look I thought. Dawned on me that if she'd not seen this thread she must have thought what a peculiar thing to do. I can see the funny side of it.πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜œ

OH my DD's partner's mum advised me to "slap some dye on it! Nice lady.😞

Nana, it’s already looking good. No regrets? I bet it’s a relief not to spend hours having colour done at the hairdressers. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

I would love to be able to!

Has anyone here gone from dark to grey, and how did that go?

I am now a mixture of a few grey hairs and a lot of white hair. I haven't coloured my hair for a few months now.
I have my hair cut fairly short and its lovely and soft now its not getting any chemicals on it
