I'm so proud of my DS2 and DIL. As you can imagine, like other self-employed people they are very worried about their shop. It's definitely non-essential, and even if it's allowed to stay open, they aren't going to have any customers, but yesterday they texted two elderly lady neighbours from their old house to ask if they wanted any shopping when they went to get their click and collect from Tesco, and they've said they'll check regularly with them. One is a particular worry as she's on oxygen most of the time and isn't very mobile. She also has an elderly Labrador to care for.

That’s so kind, Daisy. They’ve just said in the news that communities are pulling together, so there is hope for us all yet 🙂

Enfys - wouldn't it be great if the curse of coronavirus brought communities together. So many of us live separate lives, not even knowing our immediate neighbours.

I certainly hope some good will come out of the situation we are all in.

I had a lovely note through the door from one of my neighbours saying she is happy to get me shopping or anything I might need, if I choose to self isolate. I phoned her to thank her and say I am fine and I will let her know if there is anything I might need at a later date. I didn’t really know her before and I thought it was a lovely gesture. (She obviously sees me as the old lady in the bungalow.) Chuckle, but how kind is that?

Sunshine, how kind of your neighbour, even though you're a long way from being an old lady.

Our FB group have now organised themselves like an army on the move to make sure everyone in our road and the surrounds roads all get a leaflet through the door with a contact name and phone number on it if they need help, or just want a bit of a chat on the phone. A couple of us oldies have offered to be phone contacts for those who aren't online. After all, we'll be at home!!

Our young neighbours did the same. They probably see us as the old couple next door! But still very kind and thoughtful.

My caring neighbour brought me a beautiful plant round today. She said she didn't know how things will be, come Easter time, so she thought she'd cheer me up early. She's lovely.

(I tried resizing a pic of it but it didn't work. I really must learn how to do this.)

I treated myself yesterday to 2 orchids! There is a Facebook page of what there is to buy from the growers around the village, have to stop myself.

So pleased to hear about the cat, Gem. I wonder where she had been.

                            Lovely orchid, Lizzie.

We have ordered our mini greenhouse, some seeds and seed compost. All set now. I think it will b good to have a little project, DH is quite keen.

                                Great idea Enfys.

The cat was locked in a shed 3 doors from her home! The owners of that house have had a lot of work done, still own their previous home and are not here all the time. Fortunately they were here yesterday, and saw our neighbours note through their door. They checked and realised the cat was there. Her owners had to come to coax her out!
