Today I went for a walk in the fields behind my house . It is a proper footpath but the fields are full of ewes and lambs. As I was walking I heard a very distressed bleating and came upon a lamb who had got its head stuck between a stone wall and a metal gate post. I tried to pull it out but it was well and truly stuck. Then I noticed the gap between the wall and the post widened slightly higher up. So I got two arms under the lamb and managed to lift it up to the wider gap and tugged again. Luckily with another gentle pull the lamb’s head came out and it galloped off to its equally distressed Mum!
