    Burglary

    Last night SILs shop was broken into ,
    They took the window out complete. With metal bars,
    They. Left a right mess Stole £550 petty cash and one of the van keys,
    But they left the computers phones etc ,,
    It could have been worse they could have damaged the carpets,
    They did 4. Units in a row ,
    Police said opportunists just looking for cash.

    Now they have to replace. The window and bars and have the van locks changed
    The insurance will cover most of it but they still have to pay excess and their rates will go up.

        Oma, thats awful. IF and its big IF those responsible get caught, they'll only get a slap on the wrist.
        People work so hard to build a business, then this happens.
        Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

          Oma, that's awful. I despair of people who do things like this. Your SIL works hard and some scumbag comes along and just helps themselves and wrecks everything. Like Nanto says, even if they're caught they will just be told they're naughty and not to do it again! It makes my blood boil.

            Honestly they struggled through COVID to keep going ,
            They work long hours to make a living and these people think they can just come in and do this .
            But they will bounce back it's only a window and some cash nothing else destroyed thankfully.

              Oma, I know how hard it is to run a small business. You get no help from anybody and the red tape seems to get worse all the time.

              DS2 and DIL leave their empty till drawer open at night, and take any cash home with them. But when one of the neighbouring shops was broken into the residents in the flats above thought the owners were just working late and didn't raise the alarm!

                Oma, it is shocking what is happening, I read a very similar story yesterday, a young lady with a cafe or something with her own baking, the same story, doing her best to keep it all going then a break in!
