    Impulse Buys

Oma went into Next today, just "browsing" (we do believe that, Oma!) and came out with a new sideboard. It prompted Nanto to confess to buying new bedside cabinets on impulse.

What significant impulse buys have the rest of us made over the years?

Oh let me think about that one!

I am generally not an impulse buyer, but there may be something.

        Oma, that is so funny!!!

When we were first married we went into Chester one Saturday with the intention of having a look round the cathedral, and came home with a cine camera. I'm sure there have been other mad impulses - I'll have a think.

Not much difference Oma,between a bra and a washing machine.

About 3 years ago,we went to Currys looking for something, can't remember what.
It wasn't a tv,but somehow we came out with one.

I suppose my biggest impulse buy in a way was the house we currently live in. The estate agent told me is was just coming on to the market, they hadn't written the details yet, and I said don't bother, we'll buy it! I've never known an estate agent to be speechless before. Eventually he asked if we'd like to see round it, and I said yes, but we would definitely buy it. I knew OH would agree.

Impulse was not a word in my dear OH’s vocabulary.

My ex OH was an impulse buyer!

He was always coming home with things we 'needed', and was regularly buying those things they offered at petrol stations in those days.

Gem, there were all sorts of treasures at petrol stations back in the day. I remember the various freebies, like tumblers and wine glasses. I've still got some whisky glasses from that era.

I remember them , thank you for the memories Daisy ,
It got us talking about things like Daz would give out a artificial Carnation flower with each pack ,
                      Can you remember that 😁

LOL I don't specifically remember that Oma, but I know one of my aunties (on mum's side, not auntie G) had a lot of plastic flowers in a vase, so perhaps that is how she got them!

Oma, yes I remember the Daz flowers, although I'd forgotten they were carnations.

Gem, I remember a friend's mother always having plastic daffodils in a green vase on their sitting room window sill. I think they were freebies, too.
