More sad news, plus some good

2026 has been awful for me and my family since the beginning.

Now one of our younger friends, who is in her late 40s has been diagnosed with cancer. Breast cancer with secondary cancer of the lungs and we think maybe bones, but OH couldn't hear clearly when our friends OH was telling her.
This has been a big shock. Like my DD3 the only symptom she had was some backache, attributed to other causes.

To give you some better news in all the doom and gloom of 2026.

My friend C had a biopsy for something odd going on with her nipple. As she has had breast cancer this was obviously a concern. They think it's eczema and she now has cream for that. Definitely not cancer, so great news.

One of my DD2s close friends found out this week that her brain tumour is benign. Once again good news and a great relief. It is operable but there is no rush apparently.

A world were all these bad things happen and a man like Trump can thrive and rule makes no sense to me.

It's said we all know someone or we are that someone going through cancer ,
So to hear a few good outcomes is a blessing,
As you say then there is Trump,
That man is deranged in my opinion.

Gem, good and bad news all in one go. It leaves you on an emotional roller coaster doesn't it. We can only be thankful that so many more cancers are treatable now, but it is a worry when advanced cancer is found with few or no symptoms.

It's not just Trump, it's all the other horrible wars and evil people you hear about. It can be so depressing and I wonder what kind of world we are leaving for our grandchildren to deal with.

I’’m really sorry you have had more bad news heaped on you Gem. It certainly can be a cruel world .Although you will obviously support your friend as much as you can your priority must be your own family.

Such hard news for the families. And the grief spreads so far - but then, so does the love and support that will enable those afflicted on their journey.
