    Smaller meals.

Do any of you find you are eating smaller meals as you are getting older.
Today, while we were out we dicided to have jacket potatoes.
Last time we got them, neither of us could eat it all.
So today we decided to get the childrens portions.
Hubby ate all his,but i still thought it was a big meal and i couldn't eat it all.
When we go to the pub for a meal,we always get something off what they call the light bites menu.
I admit you get a pudding with it, but with a smaller meal we enjoy the pudding.
At the garden centre we go to,you have the choice of large or small meal, we get the small one.
Now,when i make a pie,(fruit or savoury) it always does us twice. and i don't make big pies, same when i make crumble.
Both of us hate food waste.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Nanto, I'm definitely eating smaller portions. It's partly because of the treatment I'm on - food doesn't taste right, and I hardly ever feel hungry - but I think you do need less food as you get older. I think if a person's weight is remaining fairly steady it's probably because they don't need as much food.

Portions in pubs, cafes and restaurants have got larger over the years. People have got used to piling their plates up in places like carveries, and eventually it becomes too much.

I cant say either of us are eating smaller meals, unless we make a conscious effort to, by choice.
I remember my mums meals got very small and if her plate was too full, in a restaurant for example, she would say she was 'overfaced' and be unable to eat any of it!
My auntie eats smaller meals now too.

        Oh yes ,
I as Gem will tell you , never finish a plate,
if a plate is put in front of me and it's piled on I instantly feel full ,
        I just can't face it,
We tend to get the small portion when we go anywhere,

If we buy fish and chips from the chippy like we did last night , we get a pensioners potion between us and still lots get left.

We were saying last night , at onetime we could have had a portion each and bread with it ,

        Same herewith fruit pies Nanto,
One will last us twice and sometimes there is still a slice left.

I sometimes watch people pile a plate up in these places and think , can you really eat that much .

I can't stand the culture of everything has to come with chips , they fill the plate up with those and peas
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, we don't have fish and chips very often - I would have them more, but OH isn't so keen. But the owner of our local chippy is a lovely man, and used to be a neighbour of ours. No matter how we say "small portion please" he piles it up, bless him.
