    Winter is here

I know I shouldn't moan about the weather but ... I can't help feeling we're now on a downward path for several months of cold, wet, dark weather.

We've had a glorious summer, and so far, even autumn has been relatively warm and dry (for us in the south, anyway), but the forecast for next week is for temperatures to go down, and even snow for some parts of the country.

Does the weather affect you, or don't you really mind too much? Do you hate the dark evenings, or see them as warm and cosy?

    I get winter blues,
I feel tired all the time and some days I don't feel like doing much.
I love the winter nights when it's dark and the lamps s are on and it's all cosy,
But the dark mornings and dreary weather is a pain
Snow looks lovely till you have to go out in it , 😉

Pleased to say the weather doesn’t affect me mentally. Of course I love sunshine.

Daisy, like you I detest winter, cold weather and dark nights.

I can see pleasure in a cosy night in the warmth with candles lit. However, I would swap that any day for light, warm summer evening in the garden.

I hate driving in the dark, luckily I don't have to do it very much nowadays.

I put my dislike of the dark nights to the days when my then OH worked in the theatre and was out every night until late. With two small children I was in with them every night. No internet and Netflix in those days of course! I felt very hemmed in winter when it was dark before four and once the children were in bed the night seemed very long and lonely.

Roll on spring Daisy, and remember once we reach December 21st lighter nights start to reappear xx

I'm not a winter person, but it doesn't get me down. We just grin and bear it.
We always like it when we have got the shortest day over.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

I don’t think I would like the same weather all year.

Plant, I'd like the chance to try it out. I might find I do like the seasons, but winter doesn't have much going for it for me.

Snow this morning and a bitterly cold wind. I had to collect a parcel from M&S so I thought I’d go to Home Bargains as my household supplies are running low. It was so busy in there, can’t think why on a Wednesday afternoon. Managed to get everything on my list so that’s me stocked up for a few months!
Popped into the Range but everywhere you looked there was Christmas stuff! Didn’t buy anything there!
Glad to be back in the warm with a hot chocolate!
I do not like cold weather unless the sun is shining and it’s a crisp cold, not this grey, damp stuff!
                Keep warm ladies!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Well we had snow and sleet this morning and just when I had to drive

I drove to DD1's to feed the pets and the snow got heavier as I drove. It's only a couple of miles away luckily. I then set of for the stadium for my aqua class. Almost straight away my driver's side windscreen wiper fell apart. The bottom half stayed attached but is just metal not long enough and did nothing to clear the snow or rain. The stadium was closer than home so I carried on. It wasn't a nice journey as I could only see out of the windscreen by leaning to my left!

Thank goodness I made it in one piece. I decided I wasn't driving home in that way , even if I had to stay all day! By the time we had our class and coffee it was fine again however. OH has looked it the wiper and fixed it back with tape, so we shall see if this is effective. If not I need another. It's fairly new so that's a bit annoying.

Gem, it's horrible when you get bad weather like that on a journey you can't avoid. At least you knew the roads well, but what a nuisance your windscreen wiper broke when it did. If it's a fairly new wiper I'd ask for a replacement. Well done to OH for fixing it for now, at least. I hope it didn't spoil y our enjoyment of your Aqua class.

Wee Granny, isn't it annoying when you want everyday things and the shops are full of Christmas stuff. I think the worst of this is cards. They seem to be in the shops from September and it get worse as it gets nearer to Christmas. I try and remember to get cards for my GD2 and my God Daughter (27th and 28 December) in August.
