    Flowers

I always have fresh flowers in the house when I can ,
    My favourite is Alstroemeria,
They last at least two weeks and always bloom lovely,
My favourite colour is the white or yellow they seem to shine,

Anyway I had a large bunch in a vase on my sideboard and said to B those have lasted longer than usual,
I think I will add some fresh water,

I picked up the vase and every petal fell off like snow falling 😁
Honestly I was left with a vase of stems , not one single petal survived,

B said they were only hanging on by a breath
We stood laughing looking at the mess around me 🤣.

Do you like fresh cut flowers ,What's your favourite?

Oma, I had to smile at the image of all those petals.

I love having fresh flowers in the house, but for some reason don't like picking them from the garden. I feel as though I'm robbing the garden! Alstroemerias are one of my favourites, for the same reason, they just seem to go on and on. I also like to add a sprig or two of gypsophila for their scent. I like other flowers in season, especially daffodils and tulips. I love the huge shaggy Chrysanthemums as well but you don't often see them - I'm obviously not up with the fashion in flowers.

I'm not keen on those mixed bouquets you see in the supermarkets. The flowers always look a bit artificial and I like to harmonise colours.

Oma, that must have been funny

Daffodils are my favourites, I love altromeria too, they are such good value.

I think peach and cream roses together are beautiful.

I love having fresh flowers. Daffodils and Tulips are two of my favourites.
Lillies are my special favourites, especially the very scented ones.
Daisy, i never cut flowers from the garden either.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

As I am allergic, no to flowers, I can have roses in the house.

Daisy, there is a grower just up the road with those giant chrysanthemums.

M&S do a lovely bouquet of peach and cream roses , they last as well as I sometimes buy them.

In our other house,we had a big garden and we grew the big pom pom dahlia in all colours but I never cut them for the house,
I never felt it was right plus they get full of earwigs,😱

Supermarket bouquets seem to be all the same flowers don't they then bulked out with foliage.

            Nanto
I'm intolerant to the smell of lily's,
They give me migrain, I can smell them as soon as I walk into somewhere that has them.
I have been known in hotels or restaurants to ask them to move them.

I have orange ones in tubs in the garden but they are not scented and they are at the bottom of the garden.

Tulips and daffodils are a firm favourite with most people I think,
It was spring when my sister died and she requested only daffodils at her funeral,
Everyone complied with her wishes , they were so bright and vibrant on a sad day.

My oldest sister is the same , she can't have flowers in the house .

I bought myself two more bunches of Alstroemeria this morning while we were out,😁

Oma, I've never grown dahlias, but they have such a wide variety of types there must be a dahlia for every space! The man who had the allotment next door to ours (since 1968!) was a champion dahlia grower and in season his whole plot was a patchwork of colour. They looked amazing, but he always said they were just the also rans - his prize blooms were in his garden at home. He also grew and had success with Chrysanthemums and I always hoped he would plant them near our dividing fence, because I love the smell of them.
