    Lost money

This morning I was putting the darks in the washer and I emptied GS's trouser pockets, he had left his golf trousers so I thought I would wash them
Tissues receipts etc, general crap men put in their pocket,
Just as I was putting it in the bin I noticed something orange wrapped in a tissue,
    It was a £10 note

It got me wondering how much money is thrown out each day without being noticed,
I rang him and he said he wondered where it was 🙄

I'm sure my ex must have lost a lot of money that way over the years. I was always finding it in different pockets like that.

Oma, it was a good job you checked the pockets. I bet there is a lot of 'lost' money around, down the sides of sofas, in the nooks and crannies of handbags, pockets, money put in a safe place that we then forget about! There is also a lot of money deposited in bank accounts that haven't been used for years.

Perhaps I ought to check OH's pockets before putting his trousers in the wash - I rely on him to do that.

I was telling DD she said that's why she always checks his pockets ,
Apart from that he always has a lot of golfing tee's in his pockets😁

Oma, many years ago when our DSs were in their teens I always got them and OH to check their own pockets. It saved me a job. So OH still does his things, and usually the only things that escapes his notice are spare pooh bags. They sit in the drum of the machine in a sodden lump.

But sometimes he also misses Screwfix pencils and I put them in a little tray on the windowsill - he knows where to find them, and so do I!!

Oma, golf tees are I ever find in OH's pockets, and occasionally screws or nails!

I always check pockets when putting things in the washer, but never found anything.
Whenever i wear a coat that i haven't worn for some time,i usually find money in one of the pockets.

Isn’t it annoying when you somehow miss a tissue in a pocket!🙁

Oh I hate finding a tissue that's missed and you can guarantee it's in something dark.

Clover I did that just the other day, very annoying!! The strange thing is some tissues stay intact, others don't. A few years ago I was decorating, I wear a dust coat?? If that is what they are called, I had finished and was shattered, my dog was in the kennel so I wanted it finished, I put the coat etc in the washer, with my phone in the pocket!!! I did manage to get it out before it got soaked, it took a few days to dry out but it still worked. I still check that my phone can be seen before I put the washer on, just thinking, not so long ago I put the display of my E bike in the washer, same story!!!! It survived! I expect they are made to survive a heavy rain shower so a turn in the washing machine was no problem.

When GS1 was a baby DD1 washed the video baby monitor in a pocket.
                        It did not survive.

When the kittens were small and adventurous I was terrified of them getting into the washing machine without me noticing

It's amazing how some things survive the washing machine. You'd think even if the water didn't 'get' them the spin cycle would.

Gem, that would be very scary. I always leave the door open a bit, luckily Eva is too big to even think about getting in.
