    Gadgets you still use.

Following on from Nanto2’s post re. Bread makers, I was reminded of gadgets we were given on our engagement and wedding, and are still in use. We still have a slicing machine for meat and bread and all stops in between, our wonderful can opener and knife sharpener (Kenwood) has just died. I was very upset. The electric carving knife died a few years ago. I have a Pyrex bowl, one left from a set of three, but constantly in use. All from 53 years ago.
I forgot the Marguerite Pattern recipe book my SiL gave me on our engagement.. I still use it.
Do you have anything you still use from when you had your first home?

I have quite a few things really, not from the first home though, oh yes, a towel set given to us as a wedding present from a cousin, orange! They are still in use! When I got a divorce and moved here 47 years ago as now, I bought a Sigg pan set, they are still like new and used daily, the same goes for a slow cooker, purchased in York whilst visiting with my father, he passed away in 1983 so it must have been 1981, I use that on a regular basis, I won't start about all the china and cutlery. I also have a pyrex bowl, it must be old as well, not to forget the good old Be-Ro book, well used over the years!!

We have two pyrex bowls bought over 40 years ago still used on a regular basis ,
I also have two large enamel dishes one cream with a green rim and a white one with flowers on belonging to my mother who was married in 1944. So 80 years old.
B uses them to mix large quantities of pastry or bread in.

I have two very old Be-Ro books that I still use when making scones cakes etc just to check on quantities.

We have a electric meat slicer but only had that a few years and a electric knife,

My pressure cooker is at least 30 years old .

I've got lots of china, used every day that were Wedgwood seconds from when I worked there before I got married, and I've also got several Pyrex casserole dishes and a meat dish, also a set of Prestige large slotted spoons, palette knives etc, all wedding presents - 58 years old.

Oooh the Bero book! DD2 had my MiL’s as she is our family baker. She swears by it. I also inherited a couple of Mrs. Beetons books. I gave one to my niece who is a chef, and occasionally look things up (out of curiosity) in my copy.

I've also got a quite a few BE-RO books. A couple were my grans, and she died 59 years ago.
Over the years i've bought many gadgets.
            Steamer
            George Foreman grill
            Pressure cooker
Sandwich maker to name a few.
The only ones i use now are electirc knife, slow cooker, air fryer, food mixer and food processor.
I gave the others to GD1 when they were setting up house.
The day after we got married MIL gave me a pink pyrex dish with a clear lid.
Hubby won it at the fair when he was about 15,he's 77 now.
I've got a few pyrex dishes from when we were first married, but i don't use them now.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

We have a little steamer, to go on top of a pan, which belonged to my grandmother! Mum gave it to me when I was a student, in the early 70's It is used almost daily.

I have little beautiful china ramekin , from an original set of four. A wedding gift from my auntie G in 1975. I wish we hadn't broken the others over the years but it is beautiful and treasured by me.

I have a really old jelly mould that belonged to my Mil but I have never used it. Time for the Charity Shop perhaps.

People look in charity shops for jelly moulds to use as decorations,
                  I read it's become a retro trend 😁
