    Summer Carnival

Our village has an annual summer carnival each July. It begins with a parade of floats through the main village which arrive at big playing field. There there are many stalls, food outlets children's rides etc. Plus dance and karate displays. It is good day if the weather cooperates.
As our library Friends group has a stall I am involved each year. We have had very hot days, windy days, and for the last two years rainy wet days!
Tomorrow is the date for this year and a very hot day is forecast.

This year we share our stall with the community centre which the library is part of. This means we won't have to pay for our pitch. Also the average age is a lot less than ours and they will bring and arrange the two tables and gazebo!

I am running a bottle in a bag stall (our dining room is full of bottles right now ) There are also two hampers for raffle. A children's one with sweets little toys and art things and an adult afternoon tea based one.
So I will be there most of the day tomorrow, with my camping chair, sun cream, water, and cash to spend on stalls!

Gem, events like that are hard work, I know, but on the day I think they are great fun, with everyone determined to make them a success. At least you won't be shivering in the rain tomorrow. xxx

Clover, I hope your Carnival is a great success as well. The dog rescue charity where we got Eva cancelled its carnival/dog show a couple of weeks ago because it was too hot for the dogs. It's their major fundraiser, so must have been a blow to them.
