    Transgender

Following on from a question Gem has on one of the games
Do you know anyone who is Transgender.

We have a neighbour who when they moved in had a little girl ,
Long red hair , my little pony t-shirts pink shorts etc a typical girl.
We noticed a gradual change in her she became more of a tomboy.
Then just before she started secondary school in the holidays,
She had her hair cut into a boy's style started wearing boys clothes
Now at 14 we all think of her as He,
If you could see him you would not imagine him as female.
This child was definitely born in the wrong body.
He is built like a boy and towers over his female friends.

Since his decision to change he has become a happier person,
As a girl he had terrible temper tantrums to the point the police were called,
Now he's a calm polite young man and all his school friends accept him as a boy.

His Mother said she isn't influencing him in any way , she's letting him find himself and if after he turns 18 he decides he wants to stay as a boy then they will take it from there.

Oma what lovely supportive parents that young person has.
It does sound as though they are meant to be male. Waiting to see how they feel as the years pass is the best way.

We have a friend who is transgender, female to male
He makes very handsome, bearded guy and no one would know.
He has his own gardening business now. OH has recommended him to a couple of golfing friends, and they have no idea at all.

I think there are many people, like the boy Oma knows, just literally born in the wrong body. Life can be impossibly hard for them, and I'm sure many go through years of anxiety, confusion and uncertainty. Society can be a harsh and cruel place for them. Then we read in the media about some people who use 'trans' as a means to abuse women, which to my mind is a betrayal of women and genuine trans people.

Hopefully the current Supreme Court ruling protects the vulnerable, whoever they are, and gives clarity to a complex situation.

I agree Daisy , the vulnerable must be protected .

I think no matter what you define yourself as is fine as long as you understand not everyone agrees and has the right to that option.

This young boy IS definitely a boy in a girls body ,
His mannerisms, his walk, his build,
Anyone not knowing him and passed him in the street would automatically think he was male.
