    Misheard at work!

DD3 has just finished her second week in a new job.

The other day there was a discussion about activities for children, with Halloween in mind

DD heard the question ' Do you know Polly McClay?'

She replied that she hadn't met her.

It turns out they were talking about polymer clay

DD2 related this story to me and could hardly get the story out for fits of laughter!!

Gem, I think that's a perfectly natural mistake to make - but very funny nevertheless. I hope DD3 wasn't too embarrassed. xx

My OH tells this story. His father was a vicar, and at Communion the wine is offered with the words "Drink you all of this and be thankful". OH thought he said "Drink ye all of this, there's a tankful".

                    Daisy!

My dad used to tell us that as a little boy he thought wording in Hark the Herald Angels Sing included ' See the jelly postman bring presents to the newborn king'!!!
Obviously some confusion with the angelic hosts!
