    Ongoing car saga

You may remember ( and I don't blame you if you don't it wasn't very fascinating!) me taking my car into the garage a few times recently.

We noticed it was leaking onto the drive when parked. The air conditioning wasn't working either so in it went.

Aircon was regassed and the mess from the leak cleaned up. I had to take it in the following week so they could asses where it was leaking from.
In the meantime the air conditioning definitely wasn't working.

I took it in and they discovered what was causing the leak ( don't ask me what it was!) They also found out why the aircon wasn't working despite regassing. There was a hole in that unit .

The result was £500 for the aircon repair and only slightly less for the oil leak.
So I'm not having aircon any more, but had to have the other job done.

We took it in to have the work done after our holiday. It was a big job so they had it for two days.
OH had recently power washed our patio and drive so after a couple of days was quickly aware the car is still leaking. She put some cardboard under to be certain.

So, once again I have to be without my car. We will drop it off on Wednesday.
    Ho hum.

Oh Gem the trouble with cars is once one thing goes wrong others follow.
I hope they sort it this time , maybe something wasn’t tight enough? Fingers crossed that’s all it is.

Gem, what a nuisance, and a very expensive one. If the garage fixed the leak, and it's still leaking I would think they should at least provide free labour to fix it properly (although you may have to pay for any additional replacement parts). Do you have a good relationship with them? That always helps, even if your patience is wearing a bit thin. Fingers crossed it's sorted out properly this time.

Car is back hopefully leak free!
It was a loose oil plug or something which they have replaced. No charge.

That's good news, Gem, and also good that they didn't try and charge you. Fingers crossed all is well now.

..... it is still leaking oil.
We intend to ask them to look at it while we are on holiday. I am sick of all the inconvenience of being without it and having to get OH to drive me to the garage and back.

Gem, what a nuisance! I suppose oil leaks can be hard to sort out, but I hope this time they get it right for you.

We have spoken to the garage and they are of the opinion that it is just surplus oil coming out. It does seem less so this could be right.
They are happy for us to leave the car with them when we are away so they can check it out, and reassure us they will sort this out. We have faith in our garage so fingers crossed.
