    Computers down

This is causing trouble all over the world , not only Airports but Banks, Drs, Shops , pharmacy’s, hospitals, everything infact.

Ive said it before we are in bad trouble depending on technology for everything .
The world will come to a standstill if it all went down.

DD and family are in Naples airport their flight is delayed by almost two hours so far.

My neighbour phoned the Drs and a recorded message said they were down if it’s an emergency to dial 999
She then phoned the pharmacy to ask about her med delivery , they can’t help as their computers down too.

Workmen from the council were next door , he was telling her they are having to just do jobs they were told about last night ,
Cant do any that were on todays list as their computers down also.

It's frightening that we are so dependent on highly complicated, interconnecting hard and software for most aspects of our lives. I imagine whoever signed off the Crowdstrike update and let it go live is in very big trouble. My understanding is that updates should be tested on a ghost system before being implemented.

A lot of people are saying it's like the scare over the possible Millennium Bug but that never actually happened, but this has.

Oma, your poor DD and SIL. It must be awful sitting on a plane on a baking hot runway for so long. I hope they can take off, or even go back into the departure lounge, soon.

I agree. What damage could be done by a country or individual if they wished to do something similar deliberately.

My next door neighbour tried to get an emergency appointment for her GD only to be told, the surgery had no access to patients medical information. She was thinking about taking her to the drop in centre when I spoke to her earlier. Frightening really what can happen when technology goes wrong.

Hope your DD doesn't have to wait too much longer to take off, Oma.

Oma, your poor DD and SIL. We were on the tarmac for less than an hour on Tuesday and that was bad enough.
