    April Fool Jokes

Tomorrow is the first of April. I thought you might like this link to some long ago April Fools' hoaxes played by the BBC

I also remember when the usually solemn Today programme on Radio 4 played a new version of their recognisable signature music - it sounded more like a Disney parade tune but lead quite a few listeners to get cross about it.

Daisy, I mentioned that there is going to be a deposit on drink cans from today here, I did really think it was an April fools joke, but no, it is happening, a good thing really.

I remember the spaghetti tree and Lirpa Loof ones very well!

On FB this morning I saw that one of my Friends had told her 10 year old son that there was a squirrel's nest with eggs on the allotment and they could go to see them. Apparently he was very excited and equally annoyed when told it was an April Fools joke!

Poor boy, and a bit concerning that a 10 year old isnt aware than squirrels don't lay eggs!!

Gem, I'm not surprised about the 10 year old not knowing that. A lot of children don't know that their burgers were once part of an animal, or their pork chops are part of a pig. They only ever see meat in little plastic packages in the supermarket, and have never been into a butchers shop or seen meat before it's butchered.

Lizzie, there's all sorts of talk about how to get people to recycle drinks containers here. The deposit seems a good idea.
